The Conversational Ad Experiences (CAX) team within Sponsored Products and Brands (SPB) focuses on LLM-powered sponsored shopping experiences that help merchants, retail vendors, and brand owners grow incremental sales through native product advertising. You'll partner with product managers, applied scientists, and engineers to drive product and engineering initiatives — building large-scale, low-latency distributed systems and integrating sponsored prompt experiences for shoppers and advertisers. These are industry-first projects: ambiguous, challenging, and high-impact.

Key job responsibilities - Design, build, and operate large-scale, low-latency distributed systems that power conversational ad experiences for hundreds of millions of Amazon shoppers - Build and integrate sponsored prompt experiences for shoppers and advertisers, leveraging LLMs to deliver relevant, personalized shopping content - Partner with product managers, applied scientists, and engineers to drive product and engineering initiatives end to end - Tackle challenging, novel situations and collaborate with multiple technical teams across Amazon - Write high-quality, maintainable code and participate in design and code reviews - Drive operational excellence through monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
