The posting

Are you passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that impact the daily business decisions of AWS? Do you want to have an impact on making strategic deals come to life? Are you excited to solve business challenges through data analytics and business intelligence (BI) solutions?

If so, we are looking for a Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst to join the Deal Tooling and Insights team to help solve business challenges within AWS. The Deal Tooling and Insights team provides tools, process monitoring, and bespoke analysis to our internal customers and helps them meet their desired business outcomes while ensuring alignment with AWS business objectives.

In this role, you will partner with Product Managers, Data Engineers, and internal customers to tackle non-standard, ambiguous business problems and translate them into actionable solutions by leveraging your analytical expertise. You will generate insights that directly drive adoption, engagement, and growth, and that influence strategic decisions at the leadership level. You will work with datasets in one of the world's largest data warehousing environments, developing and supporting your hypotheses with data-driven analysis. You will be part of a business intelligence team that goes beyond reporting and drills into the drivers behind key business metrics, redefining best practices with a cloud-based approach to scalability and automation.

Beyond building analytics, this team is reimagining how the work itself gets done. We are developing agentic capabilities that automate and accelerate the daily workstream of a business intelligence engineer, from building reports to answering analytical questions on demand. As a Sr. BIE, you will help shape and adopt these capabilities, both applying them to scale your own impact and informing how they evolve. This is a rare opportunity to practice business intelligence on a platform you are helping to build, and to redefine analytical best practices for an AI-native era.

Successful candidates must have the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple technical and non-technical business units to deliver successfully against the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills with business acumen and be detail-oriented with excellent analytical problem-solving skills. A keen sense of end-to-end ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.

Key job responsibilities - Design and build scalable data pipelines and models to derive key business metrics from large, complex datasets. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and onboard new data sources that expand analytical coverage. - Create new metrics to measure the health of the business, support business strategy and enable the broader team to achieve its goals. - Drive the development of new data enrichment tools and self-service reporting mechanisms to help scale and optimize the reporting processes across the organization. - Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems and formulate conclusions and recommendations to be presented to senior leadership. - Communicate complex analytical results in a clear and easy-to-understand way and will drive towards simple, scalable solutions to difficult problems while considering edge cases and different tradeoffs - Build and adopt agentic capabilities that automate and accelerate analytical work, from report generation to answering analytical questions on demand.

- 10+ years of professional or military experience - Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field - Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets - Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills. - Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs - Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership - Experience in the application of GenAI technologies to drive operational efficiencies and speed to insights - Experience integrating multiple loosely connected datasets to tell a consistent end-to-end story - Experience building or integrating AI/ML capabilities into data platforms or analytics products (LLMs, RAG, agent frameworks, knowledge graphs, or similar)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
