The Sr. Site WHS Manager will lead Amazon FC WHS Site operations at sites . We are looking for strong leaders who are passionate about safety and will help build a world class WHS organization and a strong WHS culture. The leader will be responsible for leading a team of safety mangers and partnering with operations teams in Fulfillment Centers to execute the company WHS policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our Associates. The leader must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. The WHS leader will be required to identify best practices and incorporate these best practices into our standards to continuously improve company safety policies. The Site WHS manager will be required to possess excellent safety program and relevant environmental and ergonomic knowledge and demonstrate this expertise when working with Operations. This individual must help execute leadership development plans for their Safety team. They must communicate safety team expectations and give frequent and appropriate feedback to the safety managers/ teams and ensure they are executing to the core competencies of an Amazon safety professional
Key job responsibilities About the Role:- The Site WHS Manager will partner with the site operations team at a Fulfillment Center to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and central regulations. Leveraging lean principles and kaizen methodology, this role will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in processes, ensuring a safe and healthful working environment for all Associates. The incumbent must build trust and confidence with the Operations Team, influence change through comprehensive risk assessments and data-driven safety analysis, and serve as the subject-matter expert on safety, environmental, and ergonomic standards. Key Responsibilities Partner with site operations leadership to implement and sustain WHS policies across the Fulfillment Center. Ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon Safety Policies and local/state/central regulations (Factories Act, 1948; Building & Other Construction Workers Act; state-specific rules). Measure site performance against published safety policy requirements; identify gaps and develop corrective action plans with defined timelines. Analyse safety metrics; review weekly and monthly incident trends to allocate resources to highest-risk areas. Conduct frequent site safety audits to identify non-compliant equipment and processes; implement solutions to eliminate exposure and prevent recurrence across the network. Audit record-keeping practices and system entries to ensure compliance with global safety standards and local regulations. Audit workplace organization and Associate behaviour to ensure training, auditing, and scoring methods are accurate and consistent. Deliver on-time, quality safety projects aligned with Operations priorities. Lead, manage, and mentor the site safety team comprising Safety Specialists, Safety Coordinators, and Onsite First-Aid Associates. Create and execute leadership development plans for direct reports; set clear expectations and provide regular, constructive feedback. Engage with Associates and leaders at the site to identify safety programme improvement opportunities; maintain open communication on progress and resolution. Ensure site leadership and Associates are trained on their responsibilities under each policy; audit the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of all required safety training. Identify and incorporate best practices into company safety standards for continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental, or equivalent - 7+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience
- Knowledge of global environmental, health and safety regulations
