The posting

Are you passionate about helping the world's largest manufacturers and industrial enterprises reimagine their supply chains and operations using the power of the cloud? Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join the Industry Specialists team focused on Supply Chain & Operations across EMEA.

In this role, you will own the business development strategy for supply chain and operations workloads — spanning planning, procurement, logistics, warehouse management, and supply chain operations — engaging directly with C-suite executives and VPs at leading industrial companies.

Your responsibilities will include providing thought leadership to the sales organisation, engaging AWS Solutions Architects and industry partners, leading the process to enable industry solutions, and helping evolve AWS offerings for more rapid adoption by customers. You will translate complex customer challenges into cloud-enabled opportunities, shape AWS's go-to-market approach, and build a qualified pipeline of high-impact engagements that accelerate digital transformation engaging with key customers and prospects.

The ideal candidate will have both a business and consulting background with experience working with Industrial and Automotive & Manufacturing customers, and demonstrated experience interacting at the CxO/VP level with a solid understanding of cloud technology. This is an individual contributor role that demands strategic and analytical thinking about business, product, and technical challenges — combined with a builder's mindset, a keen sense of ownership, drive, and the scrappiness to deliver results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Key Job Responsibilities - Define and execute the EMEA supply chain & operations BD strategy in alignment with the global AWS industry roadmap, identifying priority segments, customer targets, and partnership opportunities.

- Engage C-level and VP stakeholders (Chief Supply Chain Officer, VP Operations, VP Procurement, CIO/CTO) at target accounts to understand their strategic priorities, build trust, and position AWS as a long-term transformation partner.

- Develop and manage a high-quality business development pipeline by identifying, qualifying, and advancing opportunities across supply chain planning, procurement, manufacturing operations, warehousing, and logistics.

- Provide thought leadership on supply chain and operations modernisation — including demand planning, S&OP, control tower, digital twin, warehouse automation, and related factory operations — through executive briefings, industry events, workshops, and published content.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with AWS field sales, solutions architects, professional services, industry specialists, partner teams, and product teams to shape solutions, build go-to-market plays, and close strategic opportunities.

- Identify and develop strategic partnerships with ISVs (e.g. SAP, Blue Yonder, Kinaxis, o9 Solutions, Coupa), system integrators, and technology partners to create joint solutions that address end-to-end supply chain challenges.

- Serve as the "voice of the customer" internally, synthesising market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback to influence AWS product and solution development.

- Present business reviews to senior AWS leadership on pipeline health, market trends, wins, and areas requiring investment or escalation.

- Handle a high volume of engagements across multiple geographies and stakeholders in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

The team The AWS Industry team works with the world's leading manufacturers and industrial enterprises to accelerate their cloud journey across the full value chain — from product engineering and factory operations to supply chain, logistics, and aftermarket services. We combine deep industry expertise with the breadth of AWS's technology portfolio to help customers solve their most complex challenges, operate more efficiently, and innovate faster.

We are a diverse, global team that values ownership, customer obsession, and a bias for action. We thrive in ambiguity and are energised by the opportunity to build new markets from the ground up. If you are excited about the intersection of supply chain strategy and cloud technology — and want to make a meaningful impact at scale — we'd love to hear from you.

- Bachelor's degree, or MBA in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field - - 6+ years of experience in supply chain and/or operations within industrial companies — in roles such as business development, management consulting, solution sales, or product management. - - Demonstrated track record of engaging and influencing C-level and VP executives in supply chain and operations functions. - - Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes: demand planning, S&OP/IBP, procurement, manufacturing execution, warehousing, transportation, and reverse logistics. - - Familiarity with enterprise supply chain and ERP platforms and how cloud technologies complement or transform them. - - Proven ability to develop and execute market development strategies that deliver measurable pipeline and revenue results. - - Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to create compelling narratives for both business and technical audiences.

- - MBA or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related field. - - Experience with Industry 4.0 concepts: IoT, digital twin, AI/ML for demand forecasting, predictive maintenance, computer vision for quality, warehouse robotics, and autonomous logistics. - - Experience working with or for a major management consultancy (e.g. McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Deloitte, Accenture) on supply chain transformation engagements. - - Established network of C-level and VP relationships in the EMEA industrial and manufacturing landscape. - - Track record of evangelising new technologies or solutions at industry events, conferences, and executive roundtables. - - Ability to operate independently in a matrixed, distributed environment and to influence without authority. - - Proficiency in one or more additional European languages (German, French, Italian, Spanish) is a strong plus. - - Willingness to travel across EMEA as needed (estimated 30-50%).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
