The posting

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

As a Technical Program Manager On the Flight Software Team, you will own driving the execution, implementation, development, and test of Amazon Leo SW and tooling built to support it. The role will interface with the cross-functional engineering and program management teams to build the software and test infrastructure we own. Because of the scale of the mission, you will be focused on driving automation and operational excellence — identifying areas of improvement and initiating changes to improve the productivity of the fleet.

Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Required Qualifications - 1+ years of technical program management or related experience - Strong technical background with ability to understand complex software systems - Deep understanding of SDLC and release management practices - Proven track record managing programs across multiple teams and dependencies - Experience with distributed systems or large-scale deployments - Excellent organizational, planning, and execution skills - Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities - Experience with Agile, Scrum, or similar development methodologies

Technical Knowledge - Software development lifecycle and release processes - CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices - System architecture and integration concepts - Testing strategies (unit, integration, system, regression) - Version control and branching strategies - Deployment methodologies and rollback procedures - Infrastructure and cloud platforms - Risk management and quality assurance principles

Program Management Skills - Release planning and scheduling - Dependency mapping and critical path analysis - Risk identification and mitigation - Cross-functional coordination and influence - Metrics definition and tracking - Process design and optimization - Stakeholder management and communication - Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure

You Will Be Successful If You - Partner effectively with SDM to balance technical excellence with program delivery - Think about scalability and design processes for hundreds/thousands of satellite deployments - Navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in complex, multi-team environments - Balance competing priorities and make data-driven trade-off decisions - Proactively identify risks before they become issues - Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences - Drive accountability without direct authority - Adapt quickly to changing requirements and operational needs - Foster collaboration and build strong relationships across teams

- 1+ years of technical product or program management experience - 5+ years of software development experience - 1+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

- 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
