The posting

We are looking for an experienced L2 PostgreSQL to support and manage enterprise database environments within a global banking organization. The role involves database administration, performance tuning, high availability and disaster recovery management, incident resolution, automation, and production support across PostgreSQL and Sybase platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support PostgreSQL and Sybase database environments.
  • Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning recommendations.
  • Manage backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Troubleshoot database incidents and provide timely resolution.
  • Automate routine DBA activities using Shell or Python scripting.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure database reliability and availability.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL administration.
  • Working knowledge of Sybase ASE/IQ environments.
  • Experience with performance tuning, backup/recovery, replication, and HA/DR solutions.
  • Scripting experience with Shell or Python.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience supporting critical production environments.
