The posting

ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology has the power to solve the world’s most important challenges. From advancing healthcare and scientific discovery to powering AI and the technologies people rely on every day, innovation at AMD is shaping the future.

Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or bringing leading edge products to market, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward. Join us and, together, we’ll advance your career.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own the platforms used to build and validate AMD software at scale. These platforms include large on-premises and cloud compute fleets, container platforms, CI/CD services, storage systems, and artifact services used by engineering teams around the world.

This is an ownership role, not a ticket queue. You will set the standard for how infrastructure is built, changed, and accessed. You will be trusted to decline requests that could compromise stability, security, or supportability.

The Person

You are an experienced infrastructure engineer who takes ownership of complex, business-critical platforms. You exercise sound technical judgment, anticipate operational risk, maintain strong change and access controls, and help other engineers develop their skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the reliability and lifecycle of mixed Linux and Windows server fleets across on-premises data centres and public-cloud environments.
  • Operate container platforms and orchestration technologies, such as Kubernetes or equivalent, across managed-cloud and self-hosted deployments, including upgrades, networking, and capacity management.
  • Drive configuration management and automated provisioning at fleet scale, keeping systems reproducible rather than hand-tuned.
  • Act as the gatekeeper for infrastructure changes by reviewing and approving change requests, enforcing maintenance windows, and coordinating with IT, network, and security partners.
  • Own access governance, including service accounts, secrets management and rotation, least-privilege access, and periodic access reviews.
  • Identify and retire operational risks before they become outages, including certificate and platform lifecycle issues, capacity constraints, single points of failure, and undocumented systems.
  • Build observability capabilities, including metrics, logging, alerting, and dashboards, that surface problems before users notice them.
  • Lead incident response, conduct blameless post-incident reviews, and turn recurring fixes into automation or runbooks.
  • Mentor engineers and administrators and promote knowledge sharing across the team.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience running production infrastructure in large engineering environments. Experience with build, test, or CI/CD platforms is a strong asset.
  • Strong experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar platforms, as well as container image pipelines.
  • Fleet-scale configuration management experience using tools such as Ansible, Salt, Puppet, or Chef, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience with virtualisation and cloud platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Experience supporting CI/CD systems such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Scripting and automation experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Go.
  • Solid knowledge of identity and directory services, PKI, DNS, load balancing, and enterprise networking.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, the ELK/OpenSearch stack, Splunk, or Datadog.
  • A demonstrated track record of enforcing change-management and access-control discipline in a fast-moving organisation.
  • Experience using AI assistants to accelerate automation, troubleshooting, and documentation, with the judgment required to verify generated output.

Academic Credentials

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.

Location

Markham, Ontario, Canada. Full-time position.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
