Job Description
Amex Offers & Digital Media (AODM) is building an integrated Offers and Ads business designed to strengthen Membership while delivering differentiated value to advertisers. Analytics serves as the intelligence layer of this business; connecting business performance, customer behavior, advertiser opportunity, and strategic economics to enable sustainable growth.
We are seeking a highly strategic and commercially oriented Director of Strategy & GTM Analytics to shape where and how AODM grows. This leader will own the analytics agenda supporting AODM’s most important forward-looking strategic choices; connecting business strategy, commercial economics, growth opportunities, go-to-market intelligence, and AI-enabled transformation.
The Director will serve as a senior thought partner to AODM leadership and cross-functional partners across Product, Sales, GTM, Finance, Analytics, and Technology. The role will frame ambiguous business questions, develop fact-based strategic choices and business cases, evaluate trade-offs, and translate analytical insight into clear recommendations that influence investment, product, pricing, revenue, and GTM decisions.
A critical part of the mandate is incubation: identifying emerging growth opportunities and analytical capabilities, establishing the thesis and evidence required to test them, and determining whether they should scale, stop, or transition to a durable owner. This includes leadership of the AODM AI and advanced analytics agenda; connecting AI investments and emerging analytical capabilities to measurable business, customer, advertiser, and productivity outcomes.
This Director will lead a team spanning complementary areas of Growth Strategy & GTM Analytics and Strategic Analytics, AI & Revenue Strategy, creating a unified strategy organization capable of moving from strategic question to evidence, recommendation, incubation, and ultimately scaled execution.
Responsibilities
- Own the Strategy & GTM Analytics agenda for AODM, establishing a prioritized roadmap of strategic questions and analytical initiatives tied to the organization’s growth objectives.Shape business and portfolio strategy through rigorous analysis of Offers and Ads growth opportunities, strategic scenarios, industry dynamics, and cross-business trade-offs.
- Lead AODM revenue strategy, and business-case development, including revenue models, pricing and monetization assessments, cost-to-serve analysis, investment cases, and economic guardrails.
- Advance GTM and growth strategy by evaluating new propositions, strategic Card Member opportunities, enterprise and Heat Moments, commercial readiness, product adoption, Sales effectiveness, and cross-functional growth initiatives.
- Own strategic scenario and investment modeling to help leadership evaluate product economics, monetization cases, and market scenarios, partnering with Performance Analytics and Finance on the underlying enterprise outlook.
- Lead the AODM AI and advanced analytics strategy by defining the vision and roadmap, establishing portfolio governance, identifying high-value use cases, and connecting investments to measurable business outcomes.
- Evaluate and incubate emerging analytical capabilities, including research, semantic foundations, AI-enabled tools, and new analytical methods, with explicit hypotheses, success criteria, economics, and paths to scaled ownership.
- Create disciplined incubation and transition mechanisms that move successful strategic initiatives into durable operating owners rather than creating permanent bespoke work within the Strategy team.
- Serve as a senior analytical thought partner to AODM leadership by translating complex analysis into clear choices, trade-offs, and executive recommendations.
- Partner across Analytics, Product, Sales/GTM, Finance, and Technology to connect strategic analysis to execution and measurable outcomes.
- Build and develop a high-performing strategy and analytics team, strengthening commercial judgment, structured problem solving, analytical rigor, executive communication, and leadership capability.

- Exceptional structured problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to frame ambiguous questions, develop hypotheses, synthesize complex evidence, and translate analysis into executive recommendations.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with business cases, scenario modeling, revenue economics, monetization, or strategic planning.
- Strong analytical foundation and fluency working with large and complex datasets; experience with SQL, Python, or comparable analytical tools.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and lead cross-functional initiatives without relying solely on formal authority.
