Why the AMA

The AMA is the essential community for marketers, from students to executives to academics. Through our five scholarly journals, conferences, PCM® certification, 70 regional chapters, and presence on 350 college campuses, we help the profession learn, grow, and make a lasting impact. The AMA Foundation (AMAF) strengthens and elevates the marketing profession by advancing knowledge, building a global community of marketing leaders, and supporting marketing initiatives that drive innovation and societal impact. What it's like here

  • Fridays are ours. No internal meetings after 12 pm. Use that time to catch up, explore learning and development, or whatever you need to avoid the Sunday Scaries!
  • Remote, but not alone. Teammates in 20+ states, annual team member summit in Chicago, monthly town halls, and lots of cross-team collaboration.
  • Recognition is built in. Our Bucketlist rewards program enables gratitude in tangible form!
  • Growth: Free AMA membership, professional development content, and the PCM® Marketing Manager certification exam
  • Flexibility: We know you may have a balance of classes and this internship. We offer flexibility with your schedule.

How we hire

  1. Resume review by our recruiter and the hiring manager. A person reads your resume; AMA never uses AI to screen candidates.
  2. One-way video interview (Spark Hire): Five (5) questions, about 15-20 minutes, unlimited think time. We promise it isn't scary. We wrote the questions carefully because we want your answers to be just as thoughtful. Our recruiter is the face you’ll see asking the questions. No robots here.
  3. 30-minute phone interview with a member of the People and Culture team.
  4. Virtual interview with the hiring manager.

We won’t leave you hanging. You will always hear from us within a week about the status of your application and status.

Please note that only applicants who apply officially will be considered in this process. We appreciate the candidates who apply and express interest, but we cannot circumvent the recruitment process for any candidates, regardless of their relationship to the AMA or our team members.

Eligibility

You must live in one of the states listed above. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. For internships, F-1 visas are okay.

Equal opportunity

The American Marketing Association is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, ancestry, disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, reproductive health decisions, family responsibilities, or other applicable legally protected characteristic. We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with applicable legal requirements. AMA is also committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans. If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please let us know.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
