You will work with investment and market data to evaluate products, monitor key characteristics and trends, develop quantitative models and analytics, and support the team's broader investment research and due diligence processes.

A significant component of the role will focus on building and enhancing the team's data infrastructure, analytical tools, dashboards and automated processes. This includes developing scalable datasets and reporting solutions, maintaining data quality and validation controls, improving existing analytical processes, and identifying new ways to use data, automation and technology to strengthen investment research and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support quantitative research, analysis and due diligence across IRG’s investment research coverage, including individual equities, fixed income and managed investment products, through data analysis, monitoring and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools, dashboards and reports used to evaluate investment products, monitor key characteristics and support the Investment Research Group's research and due diligence processes.
  • Support the development and enhancement of investment research datasets and data processes, including data validation, quality controls, documentation and integration of data from multiple sources.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis of investment products and strategies, including performance, risk, peer group and other investment characteristics, and clearly communicate findings to research partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate existing analytical and reporting processes to increase efficiency, scalability and reliability.
  • Partner with members of Investment Research and other internal teams to understand analytical needs, troubleshoot data issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of investment products, financial markets, industry practices, and emerging analytical and technology capabilities relevant to investment research.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in financial services, investment research, data analytics or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in financial markets, investment products and quantitative investment analysis.
  • Experience working with large datasets and performing data analysis, validation and reporting.
  • Experience using analytical or data visualization tools.
  • Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly through written commentary, reports and visualizations.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, work collaboratively and adapt to evolving business and analytical needs.
  • Active Series 7 or ability to obtain within 120 days.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of financial markets, investment products and asset classes across equity, fixed income and managed investments.
  • Experience with analytical and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Amazon SageMaker, or Dataiku.
  • Familiarity with investment performance and risk concepts, including returns, benchmarks, peer groups and risk statistics.
  • Experience working with investment, market or reference data from multiple sources.
  • Interest in pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or developing deeper expertise in investment analysis.
  • Demonstrated curiosity about data, automation and emerging technologies and their application to investment research.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
