It is key to our becoming one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies. We are global collaborators who achieve together—researching, manufacturing, and delivering ever-better products that reach over 10 million patients worldwide. It’s time for a career you can be proud of.

Global Insights Senior Manager - Oncology

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be a strategic thought partner to brand and cross-functional teams, independently owning the integrated insight agenda for a pipeline asset, brand, or disease area. You will generate business-relevant insights that shape global commercialization planning, brand strategy, lifecycle management, and critical decision making.

Amgen is seeking a Senior Manager, Global Insights to support strategic insight generation across our global oncology portfolio. This role will flex across priority brands, pipeline assets, disease areas, and cross-portfolio initiatives based on evolving business needs, partnering closely with global marketing, global value and access, competitive intelligence, forecasting, analytics, and other cross-functional teams. The Senior Manager will lead and contribute to high-priority insight initiatives, connect learnings across the portfolio, and deliver strategic perspectives that inform commercialization planning, brand and disease-area strategy, lifecycle management, and critical business decisions.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Lead and contribute to the integrated insight agendas across priority brands, pipeline assets, disease areas, and cross-portfolio initiatives; identify high-value business questions and translate them into decision-focused insight plans.
  • Synthesize information from a variety of sources, including market research, competitive intelligence, secondary data, advisory boards, and internal knowledge, to develop strategic insights that address business needs.
  • Lead ad hoc strategic secondary analytics and ensure secondary data, analytics, and market evidence are incorporated with primary research and competitive intelligence into evidence-based insight narratives and strategic recommendations.
  • Integrate insights and knowledge to develop business cases and facilitate workshops that support clinical development plans, lifecycle management, and other strategic decisions, including critical go/no-go decisions and senior leadership presentations.
  • Plan, design, and lead primary market research with research agencies for assets across various phases of the product lifecycle to enable strategic decision making.
  • Develop deep expertise across assigned oncology priorities, rapidly building understanding of the relevant markets, customers (HCP, patient and payer), disease areas, and business context to serve as a trusted insights partner, connecting human insights to brand strategy and customer experience.
  • Partner with commercial leadership and cross-functional teams to define and prioritize objectives, evidence needs, budgets, and work plans; lead alignment on insight implications and recommended actions, and flex resources and insight generation toward evolving portfolio priorities.
  • Clearly communicate insights and recommendations to a variety of audiences to influence brand decision-making, including senior leadership such as Therapeutic Area Heads and Disease Area Strategy Leads, and serve as a constructive devil’s advocate when needed.
  • Connect insights and identify patterns across brands, disease areas, and markets, bringing forward transferable learnings, emerging opportunities, and implications that may not be visible within individual asset teams.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with best-in-class vendors; lead agency teams and direct allocation of project resources to deliver the highest-value work.
  • Informally coach Managers and project teams in problem framing, research design, synthesis, and executive communication; promote and contribute to a culture of actively exchanging learnings and best practices across Global Insights; and contribute to the development of insight methods, marketing excellence, and AI-enabled insights capabilities.
  • Maintain a high standard of rigor and attention to detail across insight generation and communication, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality of evidence and recommendations; ensure that routine and ad hoc projects are in compliance with all Amgen SOPs and meet service-level expectations for quality, timeliness, and budget.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
