Job Description Summary:

Amplify seeks a Product Owner to partner with our Accounting and FP&A teams. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing team. As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for Record to Report, Revenue & FP&A product lifecycles, defining the product vision and strategy and driving product roadmap initiatives. This role will collaborate closely with Amplify leadership, business partners, business systems, and the development and integration teams to translate complex workflows and compliance requirements into intuitive product features that solve real-world problems and drive efficiencies in Finance Revenue Management, Closing activities, and FP&A business processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Partner with Controllers, Revenue Management, and FP&A teams to define and prioritize the product vision and strategy for Revenue finance functions, including General Ledger, Revenue Recognition (ASC606) Financial Audits, Month-End Close, budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting, and other related finance transactions.

- Supporting budgeting cycles by optimizing the FP&A budgeting software (Pigment) to support strategic financial analysis and forecasting.

- Own the 'Record to Report' value chain by managing and ruthlessly prioritizing the product roadmap for NetSuite, BlackLine, and Pigment to align with enterprise goals and protect financial system investments.

- Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) bridging technical accounting (e.g., ASC 606, month-end close, audit readiness) with system architecture, ensuring NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), BlackLine, Zip, and Pigment comply with evolving accounting standards.

- Collaborate with business analysts to detail business requirements and convert these requirements into clearly articulated epics and user stories following delivery team agreements around timing, design planning and solutioning timelines, according to a defined Agile framework

- Work closely with development and system administration teams to develop process and technical solutions, while ensuring product features are delivered on time and meeting high-quality standards with appropriate documentation and controls.

- Measure and analyze product performance and organizational feedback to identify areas for process improvement and to inform future product development plans.

- Work with project teams to build and manage product documentation, organizational change management needs, training plans, and other supporting materials.

- Understand company strategy and ensure our technology stack aligns with current and long-term goals.

- Closely partner with the cross-functional Product Owners to manage and guide Amplify’s financial ecosystem, ensuring upstream operational data (Billing, AR) correctly flows into the Revenue and General Ledger reporting.

- Plan, facilitate, and monitor User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for all initial implementations, future improvements, and system upgrades.

- Partner across IT, Security, and Audit to define, document, monitor, and continuously improve General IT Controls (GITC) governance supporting regulatory and internal compliance. Spearhead the systems strategy for internal controls, utilizing BlackLine and NetSuite to ensure audit readiness.

- Collaborate with other Business Systems Product Owners (e.g., Supply Chain, People Technology, Finance Operations, etc.) to identify potential changes to upstream or downstream processes that impact financial transactions, statements, and reporting.

- Lead product delivery within an agile/Scrum team by continuously auditing and refining the backlog to prioritize and balance high-impact automation against small enhancements, creating IT requirements (user stories)

Required Qualifications:

- 5 to 7+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role

- Experience working with "NetSuite ARM" (Advanced Revenue Management)

- Experience working with "ASC 606" for accounting and finance processes, particularly in areas like revenue recognition, journal entries, specifically the Record to Report and Close cycles, and consolidations.

- Experience with at least one full SaaS-based ERP implementation.

- Experience working with "Pigment" for managing or implementing FP&A solutions (will consider experience with Anaplan, or Workday Adaptive Planning as well)

- Experience with Month-End Closing tools (specifically BlackLine).

- Experience developing, testing (full testing cycle), and deploying customizations, custom objects, system configurations, and new functionality based on evolving business needs and solving problems at integration points (e.g., Salesforce, Concur, Workday, data warehouses, etc.).

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing clear and concise product requirements and user stories.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making and prioritization.

- Min 3-4 years of experience working in an agile development environment.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple business initiatives simultaneously.

- Strong project management experience (Agile or Waterfall) and an ability to accurately identify tasks and estimate work.

- Bachelor’s Degree in information technologies, finance, accounting, or experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous experience with associated financial applications [Concur, Blackline (or other related closing software applications), Pigment budgeting software].

- A solid understanding of the general ledger, revenue recognition (physical and digital products and subscriptions), planning, payroll, and reporting.

- Familiarity with process areas, including Order to Cash, Record to Report, Budgeting & Forecasting, etc.

- Strong NetSuite ERP Financials solution implementation and/or administration experience.

- Experience working with large datasets with Excel, Looker, Alteryx, or related tools.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
