True Benefit, an Amwins Group company, is seeking a Broker Relationship Consultant, Employee Benefits to support the ADP TotalSource Broker Channel in Texas.

True Benefit is an employee benefits consulting and healthcare underwriting program manager supporting a leading Professional Employer Organization (PEO) platform. Please visit us at www.amwins.com/opco/true-benefit. We manage more than $2.3 billion in annual healthcare premium for over 150,000 insured employees nationwide. True Benefit has been part of Amwins Group, the world’s wholesale insurance distributor, since 2016. Please visit us at www.amwins.com.

Position Overview

The Broker Relationship Consultant builds relationships with priority retail brokerage firms and partners with ADP Broker District Managers to grow the assigned market. The role educates brokers and ADP partners, supports case strategy, coordinates with underwriting, and helps position ADP TotalSource against open-market benefit options.

This role does not cold call for new firms, carry a traditional individual sales quota, or make their own final underwriting decisions. Success requires broker credibility, benefits funding knowledge, sound business judgment, and the ability to influence growth through relationships and expertise.

Responsibilities

Broker Relationship Development

  • Build trusted relationships with priority retail brokerage firms, benefits consultants, and producers.
  • Engage and educate producers within established firms on the ADP TotalSource value proposition.
  • Understand broker priorities and serve as an effective advocate for both the broker and ADP seller.

ADP Sales Partnership and Case Support

  • Partner with ADP Broker District Managers and join the sales process when appropriate.
  • Support case strategy, opportunity qualification, competitive positioning, and coordination with True Benefit underwriting.
  • Participate in broker, employer, and ADP meetings where benefits or PEO expertise can advance an opportunity.

Employee Benefits and Market Education

  • Differentiate ADP TotalSource from fully insured, level-funded, self-funded, and other open-market options.
  • Share relevant market, competitive, healthcare, and broker-channel insights.
  • Translate technical benefits and underwriting concepts into practical guidance.

Retention and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with ADP retention teams on renewals and broker communication.
  • Coordinate with underwriting and True Benefit stakeholders to support sustainable growth.
  • Maintain consistent follow-through and represent True Benefit and Amwins at market events.

Territory & Travel

  • Texas home base, ideally within a 45- to 60-minute commute of a primary ADP office.
  • ADP office presence approximately one to two days per week.
  • Regional travel throughout Texas, including approximately one to two overnight stays twice per month.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5 to 7 or more years of employee benefits, retail brokerage, carrier distribution, PEO consulting, or related experience.
  • Experience building relationships with retail employee benefits firms and producers.
  • Knowledge of fully insured and level-funded arrangements, with working knowledge of self-funded and other funding approaches.
  • Strong consultative, presentation, collaboration, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to influence results without direct authority or ownership of a traditional sales quota.
  • Active Life and Health license, or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.

Preferred

  • Broker-facing experience as an Account Executive, Account Manager, Benefits Consultant, carrier representative, or similar professional.
  • Relationships within the Texas employee benefits brokerage community.
  • PEO knowledge and experience supporting broker distribution channels.
  • Experience partnering with sales, underwriting, renewal, and retention teams.

Measures of Success

During the first 6 to 12 months, success will be demonstrated through:

  • Strong relationships and engagement with priority brokers and ADP partners.
  • Case support that contributes to conversion and net membership growth.
  • Effective market education and partnership with retention teams.
  • Consistent collaboration, responsiveness, follow-through, and market expertise.

Pursuant to Connecticut regulation, the compensation range for this position is as stated and includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
