The posting

At Anchorage Digital, we are building the world’s most advanced digital asset platform for institutions to participate in crypto.

Anchorage Digital is a crypto platform that enables institutions to participate in digital assets through custody, staking, trading, governance, settlement, and the industry's leading security infrastructure. Home to Anchorage Digital Bank N.A., the first federally chartered crypto bank in the U.S., Anchorage Digital also serves institutions through Anchorage Digital Singapore, Porto by Anchorage Digital, and other offerings.

The company is funded by leading institutions including Andreessen Horowitz, GIC, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and Visa, with its Series D valuation over $3 billion. Founded in 2017 in San Francisco, California, Anchorage Digital has offices in New York, New York; Porto, Portugal; Singapore; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Learn more at anchorage.com, on X @Anchorage, and on LinkedIn.

With the evolving landscape of digital threats and an increasing volume of sophisticated attacks by malicious actors, we have a security policy mandating all new hires complete an in-person onboarding process - no exceptions. Security is our foundation and we prioritize physical identity verification and secure IT setup. While our security and IT logistics require physical presence to protect our infrastructure from sophisticated global threats, this move is equally about our Village culture. We believe that a laptop can be shipped, but our culture cannot.

As a Member of Custody Operations, Digital Assets, you are responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations that the company processes in support of clients' daily activities. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring an excellent operational experience by reviewing client transactions and instructions in a timely manner, providing attentive care to our clients, and managing their transactions in a risk-conscious way. You will become intimately familiar with the operations of our clients and their use of our platform, anticipate their needs, and serve as an advocate for them internally in partnership with Client Experience teams. You will have a full understanding of the custody operations of the firm, as well as the regulatory and operational considerations at each step. You support client interactions across multiple teams and work closely with your Client Operations teammates to ensure processes and procedures are developed and continuously refined.

In this role, you will:

  • Service institutional clients by managing operational tasks, developing and executing operational processes in support of our clients' needs, and performing transaction reviews and approvals.
  • Develop familiarity with all of our product and service offerings, gaining a deep understanding of product features and supported cryptocurrencies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Client Experience, Sales, Compliance, and Product, to develop operational solutions for complex client requests.
  • Participate in regular evening and weekend on-call rotations.

We have created the Factors of Growth & Impact to help Villagers better measure impact and articulate coaching, feedback, and the rich and rewarding learning that happens while exploring, developing, and mastering the capabilities and contributions within and outside of the Member of Client Operations role:

Technical Skills:

  • Experience: Supporting operational needs of institutional clients in a financial services setting, with familiarity with US Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) requirements.
  • Industry Knowledge: Maintain a working understanding of how institutional clients (e.g., VCs, Sovereign Wealth Funds, PE firms) operate in the crypto custody space.
  • Traditional Finance Context: Maintain an understanding of traditional financial services, products, and strategies as required to support Anchorage Digital clients and their specific strategic goals.
  • Crypto Ecosystem Awareness: Maintain a basic understanding of the crypto industry landscape, tokens/protocols, and key operational verticals (e.g., staking, governance).
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to quickly navigate and learn software systems and tools such as Salesforce, Jira, and Looker.
  • Operational Execution: Ability to execute end-to-end processing of client operations for institutional clients, including receiving, verifying, and reviewing transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

Complexity and Impact of Work:

  • Adaptability: Demonstrate a keen ability to adapt and learn quickly as business strategies evolve and new products or tasks are introduced.
  • Process Improvement & Projects: Collaborate with cross-functional partners to create internal presentations and reporting, participate in process-enhancement projects, and support the rollout of new operational workflows.
  • Core Execution: Contribute to the delivery of day-to-day results on core tasks with moderate direction.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and escalate potential client and organizational risks to leadership.

Organizational Knowledge:

  • Strategic Alignment: Ability to understand and align with Anchorage Digital’s overarching strategy, driving its successful execution through operational excellence.

Communication and Influence:

  • Team Communication: Ability to engage effectively with team members, clearly communicate task status, and share relevant updates with colleagues, managers, and team leads (with guidance).
  • Multi-Channel Support: Experience leveraging multiple communication channels to support clients and internal teams, including chat, text, phone, email, and video conferencing.
  • Process Improvement: Active contributor to internal team discussions aimed at enhancing processes and productivity; thoughtfully conveys insights and impacts when collaborating across teams to resolve issues.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Communicates with internal counterparties in a clear, articulate, and solution-oriented manner.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

  • You have 2–4 years of professional experience in financial services and/or the digital assets industry.
  • You have experience supporting institutional client operations within financial services or another heavily regulated industry.
  • You are familiar with traditional financial services, products, and strategies, allowing you to provide thoughtful, high-touch support to institutional clients.
  • You have experience supporting clients across multiple channels, including chat, text, telephone, email, and video conferencing.
  • You bring foundational knowledge of—or a strong interest in—blockchain, crypto-economics, and security engineering.
  • You have a proven ability to adapt and learn quickly as business strategies evolve and new products are introduced.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:

  • You have experience using operational and compliance tools such as TRM, Notabene, or Jira.
  • You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
