The posting

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Dive-XL is Anduril's extra-large autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), built for ultra-long range and large modular payloads. It is the vehicle behind Ghost Shark, which we build in Sydney for the Royal Australian Navy.

We are now setting up the first U.S. Dive-XL production line at our 150,000 square foot campus in Quonset Point, Rhode Island. Designs and manufacturing BOMs live in Siemens NX and Teamcenter. Routings and digital work instructions live in ArsenalOS, our in-house MES, and materials and orders run through Oracle ERP.

ABOUT THE JOB

This is a manufacturing test role for an electrical engineer who writes code, focused on full-vehicle testing. You will run Dive-XL through dry factory acceptance testing (FAT) on the floor and wet FAT in our onsite test tank, and troubleshoot the electrical and software problems those tests find, working with the technicians who run the tests.

If you are tired of legacy bureaucracy, you will feel the difference here from day one. The line is new, so you will set up its processes from the start, with the autonomy to help make Quonset a world-class production site.

You do not need subsea experience. We are looking for strong electrical test, troubleshooting and programming skills, and we will teach you the vehicle.

Based on eligibility, relocation assistance may be available.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Run full-vehicle dry FAT and wet FAT in our test tank as test conductor, working through each procedure with the technicians on the floor
  • Become the subject-matter expert on the vehicle's electrical and software checks, such as power sequencing and isolation, device power draw, device and network communications, navigation alignment and data logging
  • Validate the operator control stations that run the vehicle, on their own and connected to the vehicle
  • Bring each vehicle to its test configuration before FAT: load the software build under test and confirm every device's firmware and settings match the release
  • Own what gets tested and where: decide which tests add value and which repeat earlier checks, and cut test time while still proving the product requirements
  • Push tests upstream so problems are caught at the smallest assembly possible instead of at FAT, and give the product definition team design-for-test (DFT) feedback
  • Triage every failed test step as a real defect, a procedure that no longer matches the as-built vehicle, a test-setup limit or a missing upstream step, and send it to the right owner
  • Troubleshoot electrical and software failures using vehicle telemetry and logs, and lead data-driven root cause using structured problem solving
  • Work with Dive-XL electrical and software engineers on our global product teams to troubleshoot failures found in test and get fixes back to the line
  • Automate parts of FAT so tests run the same way each time and results are recorded without manual entry
  • Keep FAT procedures matched to the as-built vehicle as the design changes, and train technicians to run them
  • Write troubleshooting runbooks with the symptoms, diagnostic steps and fix, so the next technician clears the same failure faster
  • Use Python and AI coding tools to automate test sequences, parse test logs, and build dashboards that track pass/fail trends and first-pass yield across the line
  • Work with our Sydney test team so both sites run the same tests, and travel to Sydney when the work calls for it

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, ideally designing tests for electromechanical hardware in a manufacturing environment
  • Hardware testing and automated test systems
  • Programming in Python, MATLAB, shell or similar
  • Communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, PCIe, HDMI and CAN
  • Bench equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs and programmable power supplies
  • Manufacturing test limits and the common failure modes that manufacturing introduces
  • Complex electromechanical systems, and what it takes to make them work reliably
  • Full system test plans you wrote and ran on fast product development timelines
  • Programming and testing a wide range of sensors, actuators and electrical components
  • Prototyping and running your own tests, from the setup through the hardware and software, that you can walk us through in detail
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Subsea robotics or AUV/UUV experience, including in-water testing
  • PLM, MES, Jama and test execution systems
  • Testing and working around high-voltage systems up to 400 V
  • Projects that integrate electrical, mechanical and software or firmware systems
  • Owning projects with loose scope under technical and schedule pressure

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
