The posting

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Production Engineering team is a newly formed organization within Anduril's Software Platform, dedicated to the reliability, performance, and scalability of the cloud infrastructure behind Lattice, Anduril's autonomous command and control platform. Our work helps keep mission-critical systems available in demanding operational environments.

Our team operates at the intersection of software engineering and systems reliability. We run on-call and incident management tooling, build observability and automation, and create the playbooks that help teams detect and recover from production issues. We partner with engineering teams across Anduril as a force multiplier: we provide the platform and operational support, while product teams retain ownership of their services.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer 2 who is passionate about building resilient, highly available systems that scale to meet the demands of the core systems powering Lattice. You will work closely with platform engineers, product developers, and field operations to proactively identify reliability risks, respond to incidents, and help owning teams improve the operational excellence of our software platform. This is a hands-on role on a growing team, with opportunities to build shared tooling and processes that make reliability improvements easier to deliver. If you thrive on solving hard problems and want your work to have a direct impact on national security, this is the role for you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build and improve monitoring, observability, and alerting systems to detect reliability issues early and make them easier to diagnose across the Lattice platform
  • Participate in on-call rotations, triage production incidents, and coordinate response and escalation with the teams that own affected services
  • Contribute to blameless postmortems and work with owning teams to turn incident learnings into systemic improvements
  • Build and maintain shared reliability tooling and automation that reduce toil, surface risks, and help teams make safer changes
  • Partner with service owners to identify Kubernetes patch and version risks, develop maintenance plans, and track owner-led updates to completion
  • Help service teams define and track Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets to balance feature velocity with reliability
  • Partner with software engineering teams on reliability patterns such as graceful degradation and circuit breakers
  • Contribute to capacity planning and performance testing with owning teams to help systems handle growth and peak operational demands
  • Create runbooks, documentation, and training materials that help teams operate production systems effectively
  • Partner with software engineering teams to improve deployment safety through progressive rollouts, automated testing, and rollback capabilities
  • Work with service owners to incorporate security best practices and compliance controls in production environments handling sensitive defense data

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-4 years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in SRE, production operations, or infrastructure engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting Kubernetes in production, with an understanding of version lifecycles, patching, and ongoing operational risks
  • Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Go, Python, Rust, or Java, with the ability to build production-grade tooling
  • Experience building and using observability tooling for metrics, logging, and tracing, such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure as code practices, preferably Terraform
  • Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems issues across multiple layers of the stack and work with owning teams on durable fixes
  • Strong incident management and communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with defense, aerospace, or other mission-critical systems where downtime has severe consequences
  • Familiarity with performance optimization and capacity planning for high-throughput, low-latency systems
  • Knowledge of chaos engineering principles and experience with resilience testing
  • Experience with Kubernetes ingress and traffic management (Gateway API, Contour, or similar)
  • Familiarity with GitOps and deployment automation (ArgoCD, FluxCD) and CI build infrastructure (CircleCI, Nix, or similar)
  • Experience with Terraform workflows at scale, including module design and PR-based automation (Atlantis or similar)
  • Experience with incident and alerting tooling such as PagerDuty, Datadog, or Groundcover
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including load balancing, DNS, TLS/SSL, and network security
  • Experience with configuration management and secrets management solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Active Secret or higher security clearance

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
