About the Role

We are seeking a Tax Lead – Full Service (Platform-Advised Funds) to join our growing tax team for all of our platform-advised funds. This role is ideal for someone with deep partnership tax review experience who enjoys complex allocations and wants to shape how they are built into our platform.

The Tax Lead (Full Service) will lead technical review for Belltower’s platform-advised fund clients, the venture and private equity funds that rely on us for end-to-end fund management. You will own review quality for complex partnership structures and make sure our allocations, waterfalls, and foreign reporting are right the first time.

This is a senior individual contributor role. You will lead through review authority and coaching, helping Associates and Senior Associates grow into complex review work.

You Will:

  • Review complex partnership returns and Schedules K-1, including tiered funds, blockers, and carried interest structures
  • Apply §704(b), §704(c), and partnership agreement waterfall provisions, and confirm allocations before estimates and K-1s go out
  • Review §754/§743(b) adjustments, PFIC reporting (Form 8621), withholding (Forms 1042 and 8804/8805), and foreign reporting (Forms 8865 and 8858)
  • Validate new system builds with Engineering by defining expected results and testing them
  • Coach Associates and Senior Associates through review notes and training
  • Find where AI and automation can reduce manual review, and work with Engineering to ship it

You Have:

  • 5+ years of partnership tax experience in public accounting, fund administration, or industry, ideally with venture capital or private equity funds
  • Review experience on complex Forms 1065 and Schedules K-1
  • Hands-on experience with §704(b)/§704(c) allocations and carry waterfalls
  • Working knowledge of foreign partner withholding, PFIC, and multi-state filings
  • Clear written communication, including tax positions for non-tax readers
  • An instinct to question existing processes and use AI and automation to build better ones
  • CPA, EA, or attorney admitted in a U.S. jurisdiction, or progress toward one

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
