Water Treatment / Plumbing Service Technician

Angelo Water Service – Culligan Water Dealer San Angelo, Texas

Up to $20/hour based on experience + bonus and commission opportunities

Are you mechanically inclined, experienced working with your hands, and looking for a stable, year-round career where you can learn a specialized trade?

Angelo Water Service is hiring a Water Treatment / Plumbing Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair residential and commercial water treatment equipment throughout San Angelo and the surrounding area.

No water treatment experience is required. If you bring a solid mechanical background, a willingness to learn, and pride in doing a job right, we can teach you water treatment.

This position offers:

  • Stable, year-round work — no seasonal layoffs or slowdowns
  • Local field service — no overnight travel
  • Company service vehicle provided during working hours
  • On-the-job water treatment training
  • Company assistance with training and testing to obtain your TCEQ Water Treatment Specialist license within 90 days
  • Opportunity to build a long-term career with a local, family-owned business

Experience in plumbing, HVAC, irrigation, appliance repair, equipment installation, oilfield maintenance, facilities maintenance, mechanical repair, or another hands-on trade can translate well into this position.

What You'll Do

Our Service Technicians work directly with customers in their homes and businesses, so we're looking for someone who can combine mechanical ability with dependable, professional customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot water treatment equipment and plumbing connections
  • Install water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, filtration systems, and related equipment
  • Service, repair, maintain, and upgrade Culligan and non-Culligan water treatment equipment
  • Work primarily with PEX and PVC plumbing connections
  • Learn water treatment principles, equipment, installation standards, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Obtain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Water Treatment Specialist license within 90 days of employment with company assistance for training and testing
  • Explain completed work and equipment recommendations clearly and professionally to customers
  • Complete service documentation accurately and on time
  • Maintain assigned company vehicle, tools, parts, and equipment
  • Assist with salt, bottled water, and equipment deliveries when needed
  • Work independently in the field while communicating effectively with the office and other technicians
  • Follow company safety procedures and Culligan service standards
  • Represent Angelo Water Service professionally in our customers' homes, businesses, and throughout the community

Who We're Looking For

We're interested in someone who already knows how to work with their hands, use tools, troubleshoot problems, and take responsibility for their work — but you do not have to know the water treatment industry.

The right person for our team is dependable, coachable, mechanically minded, willing to learn, and comfortable working independently. We want someone who can take direction during training and eventually have the confidence and knowledge to diagnose a problem and get the job done correctly.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in plumbing, HVAC, irrigation, appliance repair, equipment installation, oilfield maintenance, mechanical service, facilities maintenance, or a similar hands-on trade preferred
  • Plumbing experience is a plus, particularly PEX and PVC
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company insurance requirements
  • Ability to pass required background check, drug screening, and WorkSteps assessment
  • Willing and able to complete required training and obtain a TCEQ Water Treatment Specialist license within 90 days of employment

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
