As a Test and Commissioning Engineer (Trackside Systems), you will be part of the project delivery team responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient testing, integration, and commissioning of rail signalling and communication systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, subcontractors, and customers to validate system performance in alignment with operational and safety standards.

This position is suitable for fresh graduates and early-career engineers who are passionate about rail transportation, infrastructure, and technology. You will receive training and work alongside experienced engineers to develop expertise in railway signalling, testing, commissioning, and system integration.

Responsibilities:

· Execute and support testing and commissioning activities for signaling, control, and communication systems on trackside installations.

· Prepare and implement test procedures, commissioning schedules, and test documentation in accordance with the organization’s standards and project requirements.

· Perform on-site testing, troubleshooting, and verification of interfaces between trackside equipment (e.g., interlockings, signals, axle counters, point machines, balises).

· Collaborate with design, installation, and project teams to ensure the successful integration of trackside and onboard systems.

· Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations, including strict adherence to track access and safety procedures.

· Record, analyze, and report test results; provide corrective actions for non-conformances.

· Support the preparation of handover and commissioning documentation to the client and relevant authorities.

· Participate in site acceptance tests (SAT) and assist in system handover and performance validation.

· Provide technical support during defect liability and warranty periods.

Essential Requirements:

· Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Railway Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).

· Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

· Candidates with up to 3 years of experience in railway, transportation, industrial automation, telecommunications, or related engineering fields are welcome.

· Internship, capstone projects, laboratory work, or academic projects related to signalling, automation, communications, embedded systems, or testing will be considered an advantage.

· Basic knowledge of electrical, electronic, communication, or control systems.

· Interest in railway signalling and transportation systems.

· Familiarity with testing, troubleshooting, or system integration concepts is advantageous.

· Exposure to PLCs, networking, embedded systems, automation, or software testing is a plus.

· Knowledge of rail systems such as CBTC, Interlocking, ATP, ATO, or ATS will be beneficial but is not required.

· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

· Able to work in a site-based environment, including during night shifts or track possessions as required.

· Excellent teamwork, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
