About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a global organisation that is investing heavily in cloud transformation, cloud governance, and cost optimisation initiatives across a large-scale multi-cloud landscape.

We are looking for a FinOps Optimisation Specialist who combines strong cloud engineering expertise with a passion for cost optimisation, automation, and governance. You will work closely with engineering teams, platform owners, and finance stakeholders to maximise cloud efficiency and drive measurable business value.

This is a long-term opportunity within a globally distributed environment, offering exposure to modern cloud platforms, large-scale workloads, and strategic FinOps initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify cloud cost drivers and implement optimisation initiatives across Azure, AWS, and GCP environments.
  • Analyse cloud usage patterns and deliver recommendations that improve efficiency and reduce spend.
  • Optimise Kubernetes-based workloads through cluster sizing, autoscaling, node pool strategies, workload scheduling, and lifecycle management.
  • Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules incorporating governance, tagging, and cost allocation standards.
  • Implement cloud governance controls, policies, and compliance guardrails to improve operational efficiency and resource accountability.
  • Automate operational and optimisation activities using scripting and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis by translating cloud consumption data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with platform teams, delivery squads, and finance stakeholders to align technical decisions with business and cost objectives.
  • Contribute to the design of scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient cloud solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

  • 3–5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Operations, or a similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including networking, identity, governance, and core platform services.
  • Good understanding of AWS and GCP pricing models and cost drivers.
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes (AKS preferred).
  • Strong Terraform and Infrastructure as Code skills.
  • Good scripting and automation capabilities (PowerShell, Bash, or similar).
  • Understanding of FinOps principles, including cost allocation, showback/chargeback models, forecasting, and cloud cost governance.
  • Experience implementing cloud governance standards and policy-driven controls.
  • Ability to analyse cloud consumption and cost data to generate business insights.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner certification.
  • Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud certifications.
  • Experience with cloud cost management platforms such as Apptio Cloudability, CloudHealth, or Flexera.
  • Experience designing automated reporting and optimisation solutions.
  • Experience working in enterprise-scale cloud environments.
  • Financial services background.

What We Offer

  • Long-term engagement within a global cloud organisation.
  • Opportunity to influence cloud cost optimisation strategy and delivery.
  • Exposure to Azure, AWS, and GCP environments.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • No on-call support requirements.
  • Collaborative international environment.
  • Access to modern cloud technologies, automation, and platform engineering practices.
  • Competitive compensation package.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
