The posting

Our client in the hospitality industry is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead overall hotel operations, business performance and strategic planning.

This role requires a commercially driven leader with strong financial acumen and the ability to deliver profitability, operational excellence and exceptional guest experiences while working closely with hotel owners and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of hotel operations, providing strategic direction and leadership to department heads.
  • Take responsibility for the hotel's overall financial performance, ensuring revenue, profitability and guest satisfaction targets are achieved.
  • Prepare, present and execute the annual operating budget, sales and marketing plan, and capital budget.
  • Establish short- and long-term business goals and lead initiatives to achieve them.
  • Review P&L performance, identify areas for improvement and implement effective revenue growth and cost management strategies.
  • Maximise room yield and overall hotel revenue through effective sales strategies and yield management.
  • Work closely with department heads to improve productivity, service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular management briefings and meetings to monitor performance and align departmental priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with operating controls, SOPs, policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Oversee key property matters, including capital projects, refurbishment and guest service improvements.
  • Build effective working relationships with hotel owners and stakeholders, ensuring business decisions support the property's objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in hotel general management or a comparable senior hotel leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple departments and manage overall hotel performance.
  • Strong understanding of hotel P&L, budgeting, financial analysis and cost management.
  • A track record of driving revenue growth, profitability and operational improvements.
  • Sound knowledge of hotel sales, room yield and revenue management.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A hands-on, accountable and collaborative approach, with a commitment to service excellence.
