The Firm

Anthony Gold is a boutique firm based in London Bridge and Streatham. Our Court of Protection team has extensive experience handling a wide range of complex Court of Protection cases. As a leading Legal 500 firm, we take pride in providing a high level of client care. Representing individuals, often vulnerable adults, in relation to their property, financial affairs, and health and welfare decisions under the Mental Capacity Act 2005, this role offers the opportunity to work on a range of complex matters, acting in the best interests of our clients, often liaising with families, carers, local authorities and healthcare professionals.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Court of Protection Solicitor to join our team in London Bridge, which is recognised by Chambers and Legal 500 as thought leaders for the sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising and representing clients in a range of complex legal matters. Many of our clients have ongoing personal injury or clinical negligence claims, which often result in multi-million-pound awards. • Areas of work will include the management of Property and Affairs Deputyships, working with brain-injured and vulnerable clients, Trust management, assisting with tax affairs and accounts, drafting Personal Injury Trusts, Statutory Wills, Welfare Deputyship applications and other associated applications to the Court of Protection.
  • Handling disputes relating to the Court of Protection, such as challenges to an individual’s capacity, disagreements about deputyship, or objections to decisions concerning health and welfare.
  • Preparing and reviewing Lasting Powers of Attorney and advising on their use and registration.
  • Liaising with healthcare professionals, social services, and other stakeholders to gather evidence and ensure the client’s best interests are met.
  • Providing training and updates to clients and colleagues on developments in Court of Protection law and practice.
  • Maintaining accurate records and complying with all regulatory and professional standards, including those set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
  • Some clients have complex disputes involving property or families that require urgent intervention and support to resolve delicate issues.

Person Specification

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with at least 2-5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in court of protection matters.
  • Excellent knowledge of the law relating to the role, a sound understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated codes of practice.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
  • Outstanding communication and client care skills, with a sensitive approach to complex family dynamics.
  • Proactive, organised, and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of professional ethics and confidentiality.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
