Position Details
- Position: Full-Time Physical Therapist (PT) – Itinerant
- Grade Levels: K–12th Grade
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:30 AM–3:40 PM
- Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week
- Setting: Onsite
- School Year: August 2026 – May 28, 2027
- Daily Schedule: May vary based on student availability and service needs
Caseload & Responsibilities
- Manage an anticipated caseload of approximately 45 students
- Provide physical therapy services across multiple school campuses
- Support students with a range of physical, motor, mobility, and functional needs
- Provide services in both general education and special education settings
- Support students receiving supported education as well as students with more significant support needs
- Provide direct physical therapy services to improve access, mobility, and participation in educational activities
- Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and school staff to support students' functional mobility throughout the school day
- Provide consultation and classroom-based support as appropriate
- Develop strategies, accommodations, and environmental modifications that promote student independence and access
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute PT recommendations and documentation
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on individual needs
Qualifications
- Active Illinois IDFPR Physical Therapy license required
- Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively across multiple school campuses
- Passion for helping students develop greater independence and access to their educational environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary of $60,000+ depending on experience
