Wil jij bijdragen aan de toekomst van de behandeling van kanker met immuuntherapie? In de onderzoeksgroep van dr. Myriam Chalabi werk je mee aan de NICHE- en NEOASIS-studies, waarin neoadjuvante immuuntherapie wordt onderzocht bij verschillende vormen van kanker. Je combineert patiëntencontact met translationeel onderzoek naar de tumormicro-omgeving en werkt vier jaar aan een uitdagend onderzoeksproject, dat wordt afgerond met een promotie.

Immuuntherapie heeft de behandeling van veel kankersoorten in korte tijd veranderd. Recente onderzoeken hebben aangetoond dat behandeling met immuuntherapie bij een vroeg stadium van verschillende soorten kanker effectief is. De groep van dr. Myriam Chalabi behoort tot de pioniers op het gebied van immuuntherapie bij darmkanker.

Naast de direct zichtbare klinische uitkomsten bij patiënten is het onderzoek ook gericht op translationeel onderzoek voor het verder verbeteren van immuuntherapie. In het laboratorium werken we nauw samen met immunologen, biologen en bio-informatici om de interactie tussen kankercellen en de diverse immuuncellen beter te begrijpen. Zo willen we de onderliggende mechanismen beter begrijpen, en biomarkers vinden om een meer gepersonaliseerde behandeling mogelijk te maken.

Jouw functie

In de groep van Myriam Chalabi worden diverse klinische en translationele onderzoeken gedaan, allen met immuuntherapie al dan niet in combinatie met chemotherapie. Projecten waar je als onderzoeker aan zult werken zijn de NICHE-studies, waarin immuuntherapie wordt onderzocht bij patiënten met darmkanker; de NEOASIS-studie, een platform bestaande uit meerdere studies met neo-adjuvante immuuntherapie voor patiënten met verschillende soorten kanker. In de NEOASIS studie worden onder andere met endeldarmkanker, baarmoederkanker, borstkanker en slokdarm/maagkanker behandeld.

Je komt te werken in een dynamische omgeving in een hechte groep met verschillende klinische PhD studenten, bio-informatici en verpleegkundig specialisten. Je werk omvat patiëntencontacten en translationeel onderzoek. Met het translationele onderzoek voor deze studies doen we onderzoek naar de veranderingen in de tumormicro-omgeving na behandeling met immuuntherapie, om zo betere en gerichte vervolgstudies op te zetten.

Wat bieden we jou?

De basis voor jouw arbeidsvoorwaarden is conform de Cao Ziekenhuizen. Je krijgt van ons:

  • Een contract voor 4 jaar, voor 36 uur per week;
  • Een bruto maandsalaris tussen € 4.346,- en € 4.914-, op basis van een 36-urige werkweek, passend bij Klinische OIO-schaal en afhankelijk van je ervaring;
  • 144 vakantie-uren en 57 uren aan Persoonlijk levensfasebudget, bij een fulltime dienstverband;
  • Jaarlijks 8,33% vakantiegeld en een vaste eindejaarsuitkering van 8,33%;
  • Een reiskostenvergoeding van € 0,23 per km;
