  • Develop and deliver EAs, EISs, programmatic reviews, permitting strategies, technical reports, work plans, corrective action plans, regulatory submittals, and other client deliverables.
  • Lead environmental investigations and field activities, including site assessments, sampling, inspections, and data collection, in accordance with applicable regulations and industry standards.
  • Evaluate field and laboratory data and develop practical recommendations that address environmental, health and safety, regulatory, and client needs.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, contracts, risk, and quality across complex engagements.
  • Serve as the primary client contact and advisor and independently scope, price, negotiate, and defend proposed work.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, laboratories, field staff, and other resources to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with federal, state, local, and utility decision-makers; prepare proposals and presentations; and pursue sole-source and follow-on work.
  • Mentor project managers and technical staff and provide hands-on guidance for fieldwork, analysis, and report preparation.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, industrial hygienists, engineers, architects, contractors, and facility managers.
  • Help grow Apex’s environmental and NEPA practice in Central Oregon and the Northwest while contributing to firm-wide market strategy.
  • Stay current on environmental regulations, emerging issues, industry standards, and best management practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Eight plus years of relevant environmental consulting experience, including at least seven years focused on NEPA with substantial federal experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects end to end, including scope, schedule, budget, contracts, client communication, regulatory coordination, quality, and delivery risk.
  • Experience preparing and delivering NEPA documentation and working successfully with federal, state, and local agency environmental staff.
  • Experience with environmental assessments, regulatory compliance, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, natural resources, environmental permitting, or related services.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA requirements.
  • Strong technical writing, project management, problem-solving, leadership, and client communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, priorities, and client relationships with accountability and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships, originate opportunities, and manage both sales and project delivery responsibilities.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and effective leadership of field and office teams.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard environmental data management, project management, and reporting tools.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
