About Apheris
At Apheris, we are building the future of how AI is applied in pharmaceutical R&D. We enable leading pharmaceutical teams to discover and develop drugs faster. We host the industry’s largest federated data networks for drug discovery AI, spanning co-folding, ADMET, and antibody developability.
Across these networks, models are trained on proprietary industry datasets to achieve higher performance and broader applicability while keeping data control and IP protected. We deliver these superior models through drug discovery applications that enable teams to run them at scale, further customize them, and integrate them into existing R&D workflows.
- AI Structural Biology (AISB) Network: Pharmaceutical companies collaborate in the field of co-folding, structure-based binding affinity predictions and antibody design.
- ADMET Network: Pharmaceutical and biotech companies collaborate to improve small-molecule property prediction and expand into further drug modalities.
- Antibody Developability Network: Pharma partners collaborate to federate historical and purpose-built antibody developability data sets for secure ML training, without data leaving each partner’s environment.
About the role
As our Working Student – Talent & Operations, you’ll support our People, Operations and Talent Acquisition work from our Berlin office. A big part of the role is behind-the-scenes operational work: keeping our systems, records and processes in good order so the rest of the team can move quickly. It suits someone who likes structure, gets things over the line, and already uses AI tools as a normal part of how they work
What you will do

- Coordinate the candidate journey end-to-end, ensuring timely interview scheduling and clear communication on next steps to maintain a smooth and positive candidate experience
- Manage the careers inbox and respond to candidate questions
Operations support
- Keep our operational backbone running, from accurate data in Personio and our trackers to tidy shared drives and up-to-date process documentation
- Use AI tools to speed up everyday work, such as drafting candidate communications, cleaning up spreadsheets and writing up processes, and suggest where repetitive admin could be simplified or automated
- Support logistics for team events and offsites
- Support the reorganization of our SharePoint drive so documents are easy to find
- Help bring our sustainability and CO₂ reporting up to date
HR support
- Pick up tasks on ongoing People and company projects
- Help coordinate onboarding emails and pre-start communication for new joiners
- Document processes as you go so they are easy to hand over
What we expect from you
- Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s programme in HR, Business, Psychology, Communications or a related field, with graduation expected in 2027
- Prior experience in HR, recruiting, office management or operations (e.g. an internship or previous working student role)
- Based in Berlin and able to work from our office two days a week
- Comfortable with operational and admin work: data upkeep, documentation and process detail make up much of the job, and you take pride in getting them right
- Very organised, reliable and detail-oriented; you follow things through without being chased
- Confident, regular user of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot for drafting, research, summarising or working with data
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Excel, SharePoint, Outlook); experience with Personio is a plus
- Clear, friendly written and spoken communication in English; German is a plus
- Discretion when handling confidential candidate and employee information
What we offer you
- Flexible working hours that fit around your studies (20 hours per week), with a flexible hybrid setup including two days per week in the office.
- Real ownership of tasks from day one and close collaboration with the People & Operations team (Shaked, Erin and Joe)
- Plenty of room to grow personally and professionally and shape your own role
- A modern office in Berlin, monthly happy-hours, and social allowance
- Strong learning and development opportunities in a fast-growing AI company
- Office Days at our Berlin HQ or a different European location (3x a year)
Logistics
- Initial Screening: If your application matches our requirements, we invite you to an initial video call to explore the fit. In this 30-45-minute interview, you will get to know us and the role. The interviewer will be interested in your relevant experiences and skills, as well as answering any questions on the company and the role itself that you may have.
- Deep Dive: In this phase, the people team will assess your skills and knowledge required for the role by asking you about meaningful experiences or your solutions for specific scenarios in line with the role we are staffing.
