The posting

At Appfire, we believe that great work happens when people get to choose how they work. After 20 years of creating software that empowers teams to break silos and collaborate seamlessly, we've learned that one size does not fit all. We’re a team of 800+ employees, working remotely across 28 countries. Our flagship products include: JXL, Comala Document Management, 7Pace Time Tracker, Jira Misc Workflow Extensions, and BigPicture.

Here you can read some of our customer stories: https://appfire.com/resources/resource-library/customer-stories

About the role:

Are you passionate about building awesome products? Do you get excited about being part of a team that really cares? Can’t resist suggesting user experience improvements, whether it’s about performance optimizations or UI tweaks? Then you’ve landed on the right page. The Astroneers are the team you’ve been looking for: highly engaged and extra-supportive teammates dealing with exciting technical challenges in a transparent environment, and much more.

The team primarily focuses on the Jira Misc Workflow Extensions (JMWE) and Jira Misc Custom Fields (JMCF) products while regularly embarking on side adventures like helping other teams, experimenting with Slack integration, or exploring AI capabilities. You’ll be involved in every stage of the product lifecycle: ideation, design, development, release, and maintenance. Our products are used by thousands of companies from various industries to make their Workflow & Automation processes a piece of art, and we will count on your experience and intuition to push them further.

What you’ll do:

  • Join a self-organizing, cross-functional product team and cooperate closely with other Software Engineers, Product Manager, Team Leader, and with other specialists like Product Marketeers or Support Engineers.
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient and scalable applications written mainly in Effect-TS and Node.js.
  • Follow and establish the best engineering practices: automated testing, code review, pair programming, YBIYRI (you built it you run it).
  • Automate cloud services and configuration management to ensure scalability, operational efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Share your thoughts openly and honestly on what would be the best for our customers and the business: you will be part of discussions about the future of our products and Appfire.
  • Be the change you seek - champion improvements within the team and products, adopting a proactive stance on innovation and process enhancement.
  • Benefit from the seamless access to the Support team, quick feedback and direct communication with our customers.

What we would like to see:

  • Proven record (5+ years) of delivery of multiple scalable, high volume traffic cloud applications.
  • Proficiency in full-stack JavaScript or TypeScript applications. Knowledge of Effect.js and Express.js is highly beneficial, and experience with using different AI models and tools like Cursor would be advantageous.
  • Product-oriented mindset. Our teams shape the products they own and we expect you to influence product-related decisions.
  • Truly engineering approach to solving problems. Good theoretical foundations of computer science (e.g. algorithms and computational complexity, OOP) are super practical in the ever-changing landscape of technologies.
  • Good understanding of modern Cloud architectures, and practical experience implementing them.
  • Deep architectural understanding of web applications, including performance, quality and security aspects.
  • Desire and ability to mentor other team members and shape the team’s culture.
  • Command of English at level B2 or higher.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Atlassian Forge applications.
  • Good understanding of Jira and/or Jira Service Management.
  • Knowing how to play Bang! (we really need a new champion 😄)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
