Description

This role requires critical expertise in multiple layers in cellular protocols, experience with UE and/or NW protocols development for various 3GPP technologies is essential. The candidate must demonstrate solid understanding of relevant protocol procedures and network interactions. The duties of this position will include design, develop, and maintain network simulation. You will need to understand the 4G/5G protocols functionality in the respective 3GPP releases and convert that into corresponding protocol implementation and interfaces in the Cellular network simulation systems domain.

Responsibilities

Specify, design, and implement Scheduler software of Test Base Station. Implement key scheduling, control processing in tight timeline, latency, and energy constraints. Development of pre-silicon emulation systems/virtual platforms to use in pre-silicon Layer1 Control SW design and verification. Evaluate and implement leading edge tools for build, verification, and test. Define methodologies and standards. Guide test executors in performing validation of new and existing features.

Minimum Qualifications

BS and a minimum of 5+ years relevant industry experience. A good understanding of cellular protocol stacks, particularly 5G. Knowledge of cellular communication standards: 6G, 5G NR, 4G LTE, PHY Downlink/Uplink channels and signals. Software development experience and debugging skills in C/C++. Experience with multi-processing and multi-threading based implementations. Good fundamentals in object-oriented SW design and test techniques and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Deep understanding of cellular uplink procedure - RACH, Scheduling Request, SRS, CSI, Antenna selection algorithms. Working knowledge of computer architecture with particular emphasis on the HW/SW interfaces of high-speed communication subsystems. Experience with silicon prototyping, emulation systems, and virtual platforms. Experience in SW verification and HW validation utilizing scripting and/or automation frameworks with strong experience debugging embedded software systems using system simulators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG debuggers.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,000 and $308,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
