AppLovin is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Security Specialist to join our security team. We require a seasoned professional to work a Sunday through Thursday shift to assist with incoming service requests. This specific structure ensures we have a highly skilled team member online to support our APAC and EU locations, which operate ahead of the Palo Alto time zone.

The Security Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and managing security systems, responding to incidents, and ensuring the safety and security of the company's assets, employees, and visitors. This role requires excellent situational awareness, the ability to handle emergency situations effectively, and a heavy focus on regional assistance. Other responsibilities include regular patrols, vendor/contractor management, and health & safety coordination. This person will be an intricate part of AppLovin's day-to-day operations.

Location: Burlingame, CA HQ (100% In-Office Role)

Shift: Monday to Friday (Requires a flexible schedule to help with special events staffing and coverage as needed)

Key Responsibilities

Global Support & Leadership Leadership

  • Provide coverage for the GSOC Manager during absences as needed.
  • Support projects, communications, and meetings as assigned by the Physical Security Manager.
  • Maintain a heavy focus on Asia (APAC) and Europe (EU) regional assistance, acting as the primary champion for the GSOC relationship with those regions.
  • Maintain full proficiency in all standard GSOC Operator responsibilities.

System Management & Reporting

  • Monitor security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarms, and access control systems.
  • Configure and generate occupancy and system monitoring reports utilizing our access control system, Excel, and Google Sheets.
  • Ensure all security systems are functioning correctly; perform regular checks, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Monitor the security ticketing system for all security requests (e.g., badges or access).
  • Compile daily GSOC activities into shift reports, as well as monthly, quarterly, and annual GSOC performance reports.
  • Monitor, filter and report threats, travels, and global emergency events to emergency crisis team

Incident Response & Training

  • Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies. Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies (e.g., law enforcement, fire departments) as necessary.
  • Assist with training and retraining new and current GSOC Operators to ensure operational consistency, particularly during weekend and night shifts.
  • Document and log all security incidents, alarms, and significant activities accurately and promptly to prepare detailed incident reports.
  • Health & Safety Emergency Procedures: Assist the Physical Security Manager in executing emergency response protocols and procedures, including evacuations, lockdowns, and other crisis management actions.

On-Site Security & Operations

  • Provide a polished, proficient, vigilant, and friendly security presence at reception, in the lobby, and where needed.
  • Conduct routine security assessments and risk analyses to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements to enhance security measures.
  • Conduct daily patrols around the office interiors and exteriors.
  • Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3–4 years of experience working in a GSOC/Security Specialist role.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with security software and technologies, including Avigilon Alta, OpenPath, Ava Aware, Lenel, Ccure, Milestone, Genetec, and/or similar systems.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Word, Excel, JIRA, Gmail, and Google Workspace applications (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.).
  • Licensing: A California Security Guard license is mandatory.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively via telephone and email.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact confidently with all levels of employees and visitors, maintaining a polished and professional demeanor.
  • Adaptability: Strong aptitude for staying focused and organized in a fast-paced environment, with a superior multi-tasking ability to change gears quickly.
  • Teamwork: Strong attention to detail and an essential ability to work collaboratively within a diverse group of staff.
  • Preferred Background: Prior work experience in a high-tech and/or start-up environment is highly preferred.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to adjust scheduling to support special events staffing and provide emergency coverage in a 24/7 environment when necessary.

Total compensation at AppLovin is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Depending on the position offered, equity, and other forms of incentive compensation (as applicable) may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to dental, vision, and other benefits.
