The posting

We are a successful and diverse events and media production company based in the beautiful surroundings of Abney Park in Cheadle, South Manchester. We specialise in the production of events that take us all over the world, and in creating exciting and innovative digital media, primarily within the healthcare industry.

We're looking for a Junior AV Technician to join our technical team and play a part in supporting the delivery of our live, virtual and hybrid events.

Based in our offices, you'll get stuck right in working with the AV tech that makes it all happen. You'll be prepping equipment, managing stock bookings, de-prepping kit coming back from site, and testing and maintaining it so it's all ready for the next one!

As you develop in the role, you'll have opportunities to get out of the office and support event delivery onsite in the UK and overseas.

This really is a varied and hands-on role, where you'll learn on the job from the ground up with a great team who will support and help you build your experience in the events production world.

Requirements

You'll be working with our busy project teams to ensure they have all they need to deliver the technical elements of their events, and when you do start going onsite, you'll be liaising with suppliers and clients, so you'll need excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You'll also have some experience of working with audio-visual kit, lighting and other event related equipment.

As this is the events industry where it's not always a 9 to 5, Monday to Friday job, flexibility is a must.

Knowledge of IT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook is also required. A full clean UK driving licence is a plus!

Benefits

We're not just looking to fill this role, we're looking for someone to develop and grow their career with us. Many of our people have progressed within the business by building on their skills and knowledge, and taking on new challenges as they arise. We'd love you to do the same!

If you are interested in joining our team, send your CV and cover letter telling us a little about your experience, why you think you'd be suitable for the role and your approximate salary expectations.

We do not use AI to filter, sort or rank applications as we prefer the personal touch in our recruitment process. That being said, we appreciate that AI can be helpful when writing a CV or cover letter, so by all means use it to help start you off. However, we want to hear from you in your own words, rather than an AI interpretation of you, so please bear this in mind when applying. Thank you!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
