Radiologists career opportunities across Sweden Sweden currently has a strong need for specialist radiologists within both general diagnostic radiology and several subspecialties. Through Dignus Medical, a Scandinavian medical recruitment company with more than 20 years of experience, radiologists from across Europe can explore long-term career opportunities within the Swedish healthcare system. We collaborate with hospitals and imaging departments across Sweden, ranging from regional hospitals to large university hospitals. Our goal is to match your professional background, experience and preferences with the right workplace. Radiologists in Sweden play a central role in clinical decision-making and work in close collaboration with physicians from many specialties. The work is primarily clinically focused and supported by modern imaging technology, digital reporting systems and well-structured workflows. Departments typically operate advanced diagnostic equipment including MRI, CT, ultrasound and conventional radiography, supported by modern PACS systems. Professional Development The current need in Sweden is primarily for radiologists who wish to focus on clinical diagnostic work. Radiologists often work broadly within diagnostic radiology while gradually developing subspecialist expertise depending on their interests and the needs of the department. Multidisciplinary collaboration with clinicians is an important part of everyday work. For those interested, opportunities for teaching, research collaboration and academic involvement may also be available, particularly within larger hospitals. Some radiologists later choose to combine clinical work with teleradiology as part of their career development. Relocation and Support Relocating to another country is a significant step. Dignus Medical supports you throughout the entire process, from identifying suitable positions to becoming established in Sweden. You will have an advisor guiding you through each step, including assistance with medical licensing, relocation planning and practical matters related to moving. Language training To work independently as a physician in Sweden, Swedish language proficiency at C1 level is required. Dignus Medical provides intensive Swedish language training with professional instructors, online and adapted to your schedule. Language training can also be offered to accompanying partners and older children up to B2 level to support their integration into Swedish society. Living in Sweden Sweden offers a high quality of life, safe communities and well-developed public services. Physicians often appreciate the balance between professional responsibility and personal life, with structured working hours and good opportunities for leisure activities.
