Embedded engineer Client's Special Vehicles develops customer-specific solutions that go beyond our standard product offering. In System and Software, we develop and integrate functions and systems for both defence and civilian vehicles. Our work is close to the product. We combine a prototyping mindset with production readiness, finding pragmatic solutions, testing them in vehicles, and making sure they are robust enough for production and customer use. We are looking for embedded engineers who enjoy working close to the product and understanding how functions and systems behave in vehicles and rigs. Typical projects include: - Defence: PHEV based on BEV3, navigation system, tactical functions, Protected Cab, onboard diagnostics, Central Tire Inflation Systems. - Civilian: Scania Longline, BEV for mining, Super Heavy Haulage, City Door, mixed suspension solutions. Responsibilities: - As an Embedded Engineer, you will work with system and software development across several parts of the vehicle. - Our projects vary in size and technical content, and we often run several in parallel. You can therefore expect a high and variable pace, short development loops, and close cooperation with other parts of Scania. - Your work can include concept development, prototyping, system integration, embedded software, testing, troubleshooting and verification, or even systemizing quick adaptations in existing systems. - An important part of the job is taking solutions from an initial idea or prototype towards production-ready implementation, exploring creativity, performing technical deep dives into existing systems, and handling the administration of system change requests. - The role covers the complete development chain, from customer needs and requirements through function and system development to software impact and implementation. - Most work is performed in the office, supported by rig-based development and testing when needed. Education, must have: - A master's degree in mechatronics, physics, computer science, or other relevant field. Experience, must have: - Experience in embedded software and/or system development. - Experience in vehicle functions, electronics, or system integration. - A hands-on approach to development and problem solving. - Interest in building broad vehicle and system knowledge. - Good communication skills and the ability to work across teams. - CAN communication. Nice to have: - Experience with Scania processes and systems. - Experience with Scania vehicle architecture. - Diagnostics. - Electrification. Language: - Good English skills. Personal/Soft Skills: - Curious. - Pragmatic. - Comfortable working across different technical areas. - Willing to learn. - Ability to investigate problems and take responsibility for finding a way forward. - Technical curiosity. - Ownership. - A hands-on engineering mindset and an interest in seeing solutions come to life in vehicles and test rigs. Other Specifications: - You do not need to be an expert in every vehicle system. - Above all, we value technical curiosity, ownership and the willingness to learn.
