Förbättrad sensorik och perception av omgivning ger nya förutsättningar för att lösa komplexa problem i automatiserade system. Vi vill nu utvärdera nu en eller fler metoder för att, med hjälp av kombinerad sensorik, identifiera och särskilja mätpunkter i ett punktmoln av specifikt intresse.

I ditt examensarbete på Toyota kommer du att arbeta med: Ett modernt sensorsystem med: 2D RGB kamera för objektdetektion Time of Flight (ToF) 3D kamera, för avståndsbedömning Korrelation mellan pixlar från rgb-kamera med punkter i 3D-punkmoln från ToF-kamera. Nvidia-chip (GPU) för databehandling

Tanken med examensarbetet är att undersöka hur detta system kan nyttjas för att göra korrekt avståndsbedömning till detekterade objekt, till exempel detekterade lastpallar. Vid avståndsbedömning söker vi avstånd till det detekterade objektets framsida och utmaningen ligger i att filtrera bort ointressanta delar, av det detekterade objektet, i punktmolnet. Examensarbetet inkluderar att utveckla denna metod samt att jämföra denna med alternativa metoder. Syftet med examensarbetet är att möjliggöra exempelvis för anpassad inkörning, baserat på exakt lastpositionering och orientering.
