Within Plant Engineering, this role covers several disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural engineering, with a primary focus on mechanical design. Knowledge of other engineering areas is an advantage. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to HVDC station design through engineering design, planning, risk assessments, resource coordination, and technical project execution. You will be supported by a strong multidisciplinary team and encouraged to take responsibility while continuously developing your technical and professional skills. “In this position, you’ll work with complex and interesting challenges, collaborate closely across disciplines, and contribute to solutions that make a real impact. You are never alone — teamwork and knowledge sharing are fundamental to how we succeed.” — Lars‑Ove Mellberg, Mechanical Plant Design Manager This role is based in Ludvika or Västerås, Sweden. How you’ll make an impact Lead mechanical plant design activities for complex HVDC projects, ensuring high-quality multidisciplinary engineering coordination. Develop robust and cost-effective technical solutions in line with customer requirements, contracts, budgets, and schedules. Drive engineering deliverables within your area of expertise and provide technical support during testing, installation, and commissioning. Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and risk mitigation practices throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare work plans, cost estimates, and engineering schedules, and support scope and budget reviews. Collaborate closely with project teams, tender teams, customers, contractors, authorities, and supply chain partners. Independently manage technical activities, solve complex engineering challenges, and support project execution with limited supervision. Mentor and review the work of junior engineers while contributing to technical development and best practices within the team.

Your background We know that no candidate meets every requirement. If you are motivated by this role and meet many of the criteria below, we strongly encourage you to apply. Ideally, you bring: Experience in mechanical plant design, including preparation of documents and design concepts aligned with customer needs, relevant standards, and internal guidelines. Experience or interest in 3D modeling of equipment layouts and close collaboration with internal teams and external partners. Experience and/or knowledge in BIM coordination between external and internal partners. Familiarity with cost estimates like bill of quantities and engineering hours. Experience with CAD tools such as Siemens NX, Revit, and PLM systems like Teamcenter is beneficial, and we support further learning and development where needed. Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken, and a willingness to collaborate across cultures and disciplines.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
