  • Develop geotechnical recommendations to support designs, drawings, specifications, reports, design memoranda, bid packages, permitting, and construction documents.
  • Perform engineering analyses including settlement, bearing capacity, slope stability, seepage, lateral earth pressures, liquefaction, seismic evaluations, deformation analysis, and foundation analysis.
  • Support preliminary and final design phases by coordinating with civil, structural, bridge, and geotechnical engineering teams.
  • Oversee geotechnical work delivered by sub-contractors and vendors
  • Provide construction-phase services, including field observations, foundation installation reviews, pile driving support, embankment construction monitoring, subgrade stabilization, construction administration, and inspection coordination.
  • Coordinate with DOT clients, contractors, multidisciplinary project teams, and local agencies while maintaining strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ensure work complies with applicable DOT, AASHTO, FHWA, safety, quality, and local agency requirements.
  • Travel to project sites, client meetings, safety audits, and construction oversight activities as required.

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification.
  • Experience supporting bridge, transportation, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, geotechnical field investigations, laboratory testing programs, and geotechnical design software.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 20 years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably with transportation infrastructure projects.

  • Experience with design-build delivery
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and applicable DOT/FHWA requirements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
