Job Description

As an Arcadian, you will help us deliver world leading sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets. You are part of our global business comprising 34,000 people, in over 30 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life.

Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can continue to solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Role Description

Arcadis is seeking a Project Manager with at least five (5) years of experience supporting or managing educational facility, municipal, or other vertical construction projects. The successful candidate will coordinate project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and stakeholder engagement while working with senior project leaders, clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and organized project management professional with practical experience across planning, design, procurement, construction, occupancy, and closeout. This position is remote-based and will primarily support client projects throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area while also supporting educational and municipal projects in other regions of Arizona as business needs require. Regular travel to project sites, client meetings, and stakeholder engagements throughout Arizona is expected.

Role Accountabilities

  • Support and manage projects or assigned workstreams of varying size and complexity under the direction of senior project leadership, as appropriate.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets, forecasts, action logs, and performance information.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety requirements, and promptly communicate potential variances or concerns.
  • Identify project risks and issues, support the development of mitigation strategies, and elevate significant matters when required.
  • Coordinate activities among clients, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support planning, design development, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, occupancy, and closeout activities.
  • Facilitate or support project meetings, prepare meeting notes and status reports, track action items, and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Review consultant and contractor deliverables, schedules, cost information, change requests, requests for information (RFIs), and other project documentation within the assigned level of responsibility.
  • Support contract administration, procurement activities, invoice review, and compliance with applicable contract requirements, regulations, and standards.
  • Analyze project information and provide practical recommendations to support project decisions and improve delivery outcomes.
  • Build effective working relationships and maintain clear communication with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support community outreach, stakeholder engagement, and coordination with public agencies and local jurisdictions as required.

Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in project management, construction management, program management, or capital project delivery.
  • Experience supporting or managing vertical construction projects through one or more phases of planning, design, construction, occupancy, or closeout.
  • Experience coordinating project scope, schedules, budgets, documentation, and stakeholder activities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, track actions, communicate issues, and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Working knowledge of construction documentation, project controls, contract administration, or procurement processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings throughout Arizona as required.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future. Arcadis is unable to provide visa sponsorship or support employment-based immigration for this position.

We understand that experience comes in many forms. Even if you don't feel you meet every qualification or requirement listed, we encourage you to apply. We value a diverse range of experiences and are interested in candidates who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute to our team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related field. A degree is preferred but not required, and equivalent combinations of education, certifications, military experience, and relevant professional experience will be considered.
  • Experience supporting educational facility, K-12, higher education, or municipal capital improvement projects.
  • Experience working as part of an Owner’s Representative, Program Management, Construction Management, design, contractor, or public-sector project team.
  • Familiarity with public-sector procurement, contract administration, and capital project delivery processes.
  • Exposure to alternative project delivery methods, including CMAR and Design-Build.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local requirements applicable to public construction projects.
  • Experience supporting public meetings, stakeholder engagement, or community outreach activities.
  • Working knowledge of one or more project management and construction tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, or e-Builder.
  • PMP, CAPM, CCM, or another relevant professional certification is a plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
