Do you thrive in fast-paced construction environments where precision, collaboration, and performance are essential? Do you act with integrity and hold yourself and others to the highest standards? If the answer is “Yes!” then we have an opportunity that will impress you. Who are we? We are ARCO, a Family of Construction Companies.

At ARCO, every associate is empowered to drive their success. You will collaborate with project managers, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning agents to ensure complex building automation and control systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

We are dedicated to the well-being of our associates and are proud to be consistently recognized as a Best Place to Work. Our compensation and benefits package not only supports our associates and their families but benefits local communities and communities around the world.

  • Industry-leading performance-based bonus program
  • Traditional and Roth 401(k) options
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Tuition reimbursement and continuing education opportunities
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial work environment with opportunities to work on large-scale, technically complex construction projects

Benefits should be confirmed against the applicable ARCO division’s current package before publication.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Oversee and coordinate the design, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of Building Management Systems (BMS), Direct Digital Controls (DDC), and associated control systems on mission-critical data center projects.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure building automation systems meet project specifications, owner requirements, and operational expectations.
  • Manage and coordinate controls contractors, equipment manufacturers, vendors, and commissioning teams throughout construction, startup, and project turnover.
  • Review BMS and controls design documents, equipment submittals, shop drawings, wiring diagrams, control sequences, and network architecture for compliance with project requirements.
  • Support the commissioning and functional performance testing of HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air-handling equipment, pumps, and other critical mechanical infrastructure.
  • Coordinate the integration of BMS with Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms, and other facility monitoring systems as required.
  • Verify control sequences, point-to-point testing, alarm functionality, trending, system graphics, and communication protocols to support reliable building operations.
  • Troubleshoot control system integration issues, communication failures, programming deficiencies, and equipment performance concerns alongside subcontractors and commissioning teams.
  • Work with industry-standard building automation platforms and communication protocols, including Tridium Niagara, BACnet IP/MSTP, Modbus TCP/RTU, PLCs, and related control technologies.
  • Assist with development and review of commissioning plans, Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and equipment startup documentation.
  • Monitor controls-related construction schedules, identify potential project risks, and proactively coordinate solutions to maintain project milestones.
  • Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), integrated systems testing (IST), and final owner demonstrations as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with project-specific safety requirements, quality standards, applicable codes, and client operational requirements.
  • Coordinate final system documentation, deficiency resolution, training, and turnover to the owner and facility operations teams.
  • Most importantly, find a way to make the construction process FUN for our clients, subcontractors, and vendors without sacrificing quality or safety.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent military, trade, or relevant industry experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), building automation, HVAC controls, electrical controls, or mission-critical facility systems.
  • Experience supporting the construction, installation, commissioning, or operation of data centers, critical infrastructure, or other technically complex commercial/industrial facilities strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of BMS/DDC platforms such as Tridium Niagara 4, Distech, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or comparable building automation systems.
  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP networks, and controls system integration.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical one-line diagrams, controls schematics, network diagrams, specifications, and sequences of operation.
  • Understanding of mission-critical mechanical cooling systems, HVAC equipment, control sequences, and system redundancy.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, engineers, and commissioning professionals in an active construction environment.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, functional performance testing, troubleshooting, and integrated systems testing.
  • Strong communication, organization, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and effectively collaborate with cross-functional project teams.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and experience working in active construction environments.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center construction projects.
  • Tridium Niagara N4 certification or comparable manufacturer-specific BMS certification.
  • Experience coordinating integration between BMS, EPMS, and DCIM systems.
  • Experience with factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and integrated systems testing.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE standards, mission-critical facility design, and data center cooling infrastructure.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
