The Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing asset reliability strategies that improve equipment performance, reduce unplanned downtime, and enhance overall manufacturing effectiveness. This role serves as a technical resource for maintenance and operations teams by utilizing reliability engineering principles, preventative and predictive maintenance technologies, data analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies to identify and eliminate chronic equipment issues. The Reliability Engineer works closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to improve asset health, optimize maintenance practices, and support long-term business objectives
Responsibilities
The Reliability Engineer within AEX requires technical and interpersonal skills essential to teamwork. Major duties include but are not limited to:
• Develop and implement reliability strategies that improve equipment availability and reduce asset-related losses. • Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) investigations and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures. • Utilize predictive and condition-based maintenance technologies to identify equipment degradation and reduce risk of failure. • Analyze equipment performance data, maintenance records, and reliability metrics to identify improvement opportunities and drive asset reliability initiatives. • Support the development and optimization of preventive and predictive maintenance programs. • Partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve equipment performance, reliability, and maintainability. General duties for the Reliability Engineer include but are not limited to: • Monitor asset performance and reliability trends to identify chronic losses and prioritize improvement activities. • Facilitate failure mode and effects analyses (FMEA), asset criticality assessments, and other reliability-centered maintenance processes. • Develop and maintain equipment standards, maintenance task lists, and reliability documentation. • Assist in the implementation and sustainment of lubrication excellence, precision maintenance, and asset care programs. • Implement and track reliability KPIs across the business units that align and support the business objectives • Develop and continuously improve work management processes, including work identification, prioritization, planning, scheduling, backlog management, and execution practices to enhance workforce efficiency and asset reliability.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience • Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited institution • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. • This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. §730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Qualified candidate must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the relevant government agency. Business demands may require employer to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Additional Preferred Qualifications: • 5-10 years of manufacturing maintenance or engineering experience • Experience in implementing reliability-focused strategy • Experienced at blueprint and schematic reading and interpretations • Experience with data-driven equipment performance monitoring. • Reliability Certifications (CMRP, CRL, CRE, ASQ, SMRP, Life Cycle Institute Programs, etc.) • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance-planning processes (incl. FMEA, Control Plan) • Ability to implement and drive changes to the plant reliability program. • Ability to work alone or with a team • Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical and electrical drawings • Strong focus on safety. • A deep knowledge of industrial equipment (forging, robotics, and CNC equipment are a plus), process controls, maintenance planning systems, condition-based monitoring, and TPM. • Experience with analytics and predictive technologies for preferred candidates • An understanding of equipment maintenance actions within the reliability framework from a data perspective • Strong analytic problem solving by developing and using structured approaches to identify root causes and recommend resolutions • Project Management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet objectives and key deadlines • Good verbal and written communication skills.
