Job Description:

Position Salary Range: $51,500 - $60,000 per year; DOE

Job Description:

Do you love building community? The SolarSPELL initiative at ASU is seeking a Student Engagement Coordinator who can foster relationships, inclusion, and a strong sense of shared purpose across our community of approximately 150 student interns and volunteers, while also becoming an engaged and collaborative member of our seven-person team. This role works closely with ASU SolarSPELL staff to identify project needs, recruit and onboard students from across ASU's 17 colleges and other universities around the world and help students contribute meaningfully to all aspects of the Solar Powered Educational Learning Library (SolarSPELL) initiative. The position requires high-level, detail-oriented coordination in a fast-paced, innovative environment focused on student engagement, support, and success.

SolarSPELL's mission is to increase educational opportunities globally by providing relevant, localized digital educational content through solar-powered, offline digital libraries to communities with limited access to electricity, internet connectivity, and/or traditional libraries. We partner with organizations and communities globally to co-develop and localize library collections, provide training that builds digital and information literacy, and offer ongoing support for SolarSPELL users, many of whom are using a library or digital technology for the first time. SolarSPELL has localized libraries in 18 countries around the world, with library collections and partners currently spanning Education, Health, Agriculture, and Entrepreneurship—and growing.

ASU-SolarSPELL has a Global Strategic Partnership with Peace Corps, our largest implementation partner, and works with Peace Corps posts globally across education, health, agriculture, and community development. We also collaborate with a range of international and community-based partners, including schools, ministries, universities, NGOs, and local implementation teams in the communities where SolarSPELL libraries are deployed. Because Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) have often been a strong fit for SolarSPELL's mission and team culture, we highly value candidates with Peace Corps experience as well as those with comparable global, cross-cultural, community-based, or international development experience.

The SolarSPELL initiative at ASU has the attitude of a start-up social enterprise operating within the New American University. As part of the no. 1 ranked most innovative university in the US, a SolarSPELL team member brings a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves mentality and thrives in a do-what-it-takes culture. They must enjoy the challenge of juggling multiple priorities and wearing multiple hats while working in a team-oriented, strategic, collaborative, and inventive manner. SolarSPELL.org

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
