The posting
Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with a mission-driven, faith-based nonprofit organization in Little Rock to find an experienced Senior Major Gifts Officer to drive major donor development and fundraising efforts.
This is a Director of Development-level opportunity without the responsibility of managing a team. The role offers significant autonomy and flexibility, allowing an accomplished fundraising professional to focus on what they do best—building relationships, securing major gifts, and making a meaningful impact.
We're looking for a proven fundraiser who enjoys being out in the community, cultivating donor relationships, opening doors, and making significant financial asks. This individual will also play a key role in an upcoming capital campaign.
This position offers the potential for a hybrid schedule, with flexibility to work remotely while maintaining an in-office presence as business needs require.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of major donors and prospective supporters.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects, building meaningful, long-term relationships.
- Develop and execute personalized donor strategies to secure significant charitable contributions.
- Conduct face-to-face donor meetings, presentations, and other relationship-building activities.
- Proactively identify new donor prospects and opportunities to increase giving among existing supporters.
- Make direct financial asks and successfully secure major gifts to support the organization's mission.
- Collaborate with executive leadership, board members, and community stakeholders to expand fundraising opportunities.
- Play a key role in planning and executing an upcoming capital campaign, including identifying and securing lead and major gifts.
- Manage donor activity, fundraising pipelines, and follow-up through the organization's CRM system.
- Establish and achieve measurable fundraising goals while maintaining strong donor stewardship.
- Represent the organization at community events, donor meetings, and networking opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proven nonprofit development and fundraising experience, ideally at the Director of Development, Major Gifts Director of Officer, or senior development officer level.
- Demonstrated success personally cultivating, soliciting, and securing major gifts, with a track record of generating or managing $500,000+ annually in charitable contributions.
- Strong experience developing donor relationships and independently generating new fundraising opportunities.
- Demonstrated commitment to a relationship-centered development and fundraising philosophy, emphasizing authentic connections, trust, and long-term donor engagement over transactional giving.
- Confidence making significant financial asks and closing major gifts.
- Highly relational, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently with significant autonomy.
- Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with capital campaigns.
- Established relationships within the Central Arkansas philanthropic, business, or faith communities.
- Experience working with executive leadership and boards.
- Familiarity with donor management or CRM systems.
Perks:
- 100% employer-paid medical insurance premiums for the employee
- 100% employer-paid dental insurance premiums for the employee
- 401(k) with a 5% employer match
- 80 hours of vacation available beginning on day one
- 80 hours of "Life Leave" available beginning on day one, providing additional flexibility for the personal responsibilities and moments in life that require time away from work
