Arkel Motors Inc. is a family-owned and operated International Truck dealership located in New Windsor, NY, proudly serving the Hudson Valley area. The dealership has been run by the VanLeeuwen family for over 50 years, with a sales team that brings more than 100 years of combined sales and trucking industry experience.

We are an Authorized, Full-Service International Dealer carrying the complete line of new International Trucks, Tractors, and Chassis, as well as a full inventory of used trucks ranging from Class 5 through 8.

All used trucks are brought up to International Certified Standards through our world-class Service Department. We are fully equipped to assist customers with any program or service line offered by International.

Overview

Join our team as a PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) Technician and be at the forefront of ensuring every vehicle meets our high standards of quality and safety before reaching our customers. In this energetic role, you will perform comprehensive inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of International trucks to guarantee optimal performance and appearance. Your expertise will help deliver a seamless and satisfying experience for every customer, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in automotive service. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in automotive diagnostics, repair, and customer service within a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Duties

  • Clean and detail new and used trucks for customer delivery as well as cleaning/detailing customer vehicles as needed.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles, verifying all mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic components meet quality standards.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools to perform repairs or adjustments on mechanical systems and auto body components.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control.
  • Assist with other shop duties such as cleaning bays, removing trash, and removing snow from vehicles.

Skills

  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
  • Some mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Understanding of automotive systems and auto parts/accessories.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during vehicle inspections or repairs requiring physical effort.
