About Artha Group

Artha Group is a performance-first investment house managing ₹2,300 crores across domestic and international investment vehicles, including Category I & II AIFs, LLPs, and Private Limited companies. With active investments in 130+ startups, with 32+ successful exits, and 10+ renewable energy projects. We operate at the convergence of capital precision and operational depth.

Role Overview

This Principal role, based in Mumbai, is designed for someone who brings genuine credibility in sophisticated capital conversations and the judgment to build relationships that endure well beyond a single transaction.

Working closely with the Managing Partner, the Principal will deepen Artha's relationships with the family offices, UHNIs, and institutional allocators who place their trust in the platform, and help build the capital partnerships function as the platform scales. The right person will already know this world, will have operated in it with distinction, and will be ready to represent one of India's most credible early-stage investment platforms with the care and standing it deserves.

Key Responsibilities

Investor Partnerships

  • Build enduring partnerships with family offices, UHNIs, and institutional allocators, earned across multiple cycles through performance, transparency, and trust.
  • Develop a deep understanding of each investor's priorities, and bring forward opportunities across Artha's platform that are genuinely suited to them.
  • Ensure every investor receives a considered, consistent experience, from the first conversation through commitment, onboarding, and ongoing reporting.
  • Work closely with the Managing Partner on key investor relationships and strategic conversations, ensuring each relationship receives the senior attention it deserves.
  • Engage with CIOs, investment committees, and professional allocators with the rigor and preparation their processes merit.
  • Uphold Artha's standing as a trusted, long-term steward of the capital entrusted to it.

Strategic Perspective and Capital Structuring

  • Bring considered, well-researched perspective to investor discussions on portfolio construction, capital deployment, and alternative allocation strategy.
  • Draw on a well-rounded understanding of venture, private equity, direct investment, and structured capital, always in service of each investor's mandate.
  • Contribute meaningfully to conversations on risk, liquidity, and return, with full respect for the experience and objectives each investor brings.
  • Ensure investor perspectives are heard within the firm, informing platform strategy and the evolution of future offerings alongside the Managing Partner.

Investor Engagement and Communication

  • Shape Artha's investor engagement calendar, including curated gatherings, roundtables, and private conversations designed around investors' interests.
  • Work with internal teams to deliver institutional-quality investor communication, including quarterly and annual updates, portfolio narratives, and thematic market perspectives.
  • Hold every investor communication to the highest standard of clarity, accuracy, and candor.
  • Keep raising the standard of investor engagement as the platform grows, with transparency and trust at its core.

Operating Rigor

  • Maintain rigorous records and complete visibility across every investor relationship, so that no commitment or conversation is ever overlooked.
  • Coordinate with fund operations, finance, and legal so that every investor interaction is seamless and precise.
  • Uphold a culture of precision, accountability, and timely follow-through, internally and externally.

Building for Scale

  • Help design the capital partnerships function for its next stage, including the processes, systems, and standards that allow it to grow without compromising quality.
  • Build frameworks that preserve a consistently high standard of investor engagement as Artha's investor community grows.
  • Mentor the team as it grows, setting the bar for judgment, discretion, and follow-through.
  • Support the Managing Partner in shaping Artha's long-term capital strategy, including new investor segments and partnership models.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 6 to 10 years in private wealth management, family office coverage, capital advisory, or investor relations, with a track record of earning and sustaining high-trust, long-duration relationships.
  • CFA, CA, or MBA from a premier institution, with the financial depth to hold substantive conversations on portfolio construction, AIF structures, and alternative allocation strategy.
  • Established relationships within India's UHNI and family office ecosystem.
  • Experience across both fund-based and direct investment conversations; familiarity with co-investment and structured capital opportunities is valued.
  • A high degree of ownership, discretion, and judgment, and an appreciation that in this world, reputation is everything.
  • A clear, composed communicator in high-stakes settings, with the presence and substance to represent Artha at the most senior levels.
  • A builder's mindset: comfortable working closely with senior leadership and helping shape a function as it grows.

Compensation

  • Total Annual Compensation: Rs. 45,00,000 plus uncapped performance-linked upside
  • Fixed Annual Salary: Rs. 36,00,000 LPA
  • Annual Retention Bonus: Rs. 4,00,000, paid at the end of each year
  • ESOP Grant: Rs. 5,00,000 annual grant, subject to vesting as applicable
  • Defined pathway to Partnership and Carry Participation based on sustained contribution

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
