CDL-A Driver – Overnight Local Operations

Full-Time Position | Jessup & Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania

Position Summary

An established transportation operation is seeking qualified Class A CDL drivers for dedicated overnight routes in Pennsylvania.

This opportunity is suited for drivers who prefer a consistent driving assignment, minimal freight handling, and the ability to return home after each shift.

Drivers transport dry van freight on scheduled routes using preloaded trailers.

Compensation

Weekly Pay: $1,600

The weekly guarantee applies to drivers completing a minimum of five scheduled workdays.

Mileage compensation is $0.84 per mile, with approximately 1,700–1,900 miles available during a typical week.

Drivers who elect to work additional days may have opportunities to earn $2,000 or more per week, depending on available assignments.

A sign-on bonus is available. Additional pay provisions apply for qualifying holidays, layovers, and equipment breakdowns.

Schedule and Driving Responsibilities

This is a home-daily position with dispatch times generally occurring during the late evening and overnight hours.

Drivers will:

  • Operate dedicated routes within Pennsylvania
  • Transport freight in 53-foot dry van trailers
  • Complete drop-and-hook trailer exchanges
  • Follow assigned delivery and pickup schedules
  • Operate day cab or conventional tractors, depending on the route
  • Return home following scheduled shifts

Freight is 100% no-touch, with no driver unloading required.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid Class A CDL and have at least six months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience.

Applicants must reside within 50 miles of either Jessup or Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and be available to work overnight shifts.

All drivers must satisfy applicable DOT regulations and company qualification standards.
