The posting

Description:

Walsh Electrical Services is seeking Electrical Leads for commercial electrical projects across Middle Tennessee. We build retail spaces, restaurants, offices, schools, healthcare facilities, and more. Our Leads are the people who keep those projects moving forward.

Under the supervision of a Foreman, the Lead runs the day-to-day work on the job site. You carry out the plan the Foreman lays out, direct the crew, keep the work on pace, and serve as Walsh’s on-site contact with the GC’s superintendent. Our Foremen oversee several projects and make the critical job-site decisions, while Leads handle the day-to-day calls in the field.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial electrical knowledge, proven leadership ability, and a commitment to delivering quality work on schedule. They lead by example, earn the respect of their crew, and hold everyone to a high standard for quality, safety, and productivity. They plan ahead, anticipating material, labor, and sequencing needs before they become problems. They communicate professionally with superintendents, inspectors, and other trades, make sound decisions in the field, and know when a call needs to go up the chain. Above all, they take ownership of their projects and stay composed in a fast-paced environment.

Reports to: Electrical Foreman or Field Supervisor

Crew size: Typically 1–4 electricians and apprentices

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, with overtime when needed and weekend work when a project calls for it

Project area: Within 1 hour of downtown Nashville

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay: $30–$38 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Basic Life Insurance
  • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Holidays
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Fuel card and company phone or tablet, where applicable
  • PPE allowance on specific items, plus Walsh hi-vis shirts, hoodie, winter beanie, and cap provided
  • Steady work: a strong backlog and continued growth heading into 2027
  • Advancement: Leads who perform well move into Foreman and other leadership roles
  • Field support: we are investing in planning and systems so our field teams have what they need before the work begins
  • Culture: a close-knit, family-oriented company that values the people doing the work

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute the project plan and keep the work on schedule
  • Direct and coordinate the crew
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for the GC’s superintendent and make day-to-day field decisions
  • Plan material and labor needs ahead of the work
  • Ensure all work meets code, specifications, and Walsh quality standards
  • Enforce company safety policies and proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Train and develop apprentices

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of commercial electrical experience, including at least one year leading a crew
  • Strong blueprint reading and NEC knowledge
  • Ability to work overtime and the occasional weekend when a project calls for it
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to report to assigned job sites
  • Ability to perform physical job duties, including standing, climbing ladders, and lifting materials as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with commercial, retail fit-outs, restaurants, and warehouse work
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • NFPA 70E training
  • Aerial lift or scissor lift certification
  • Experience preparing material lists and coordinating labor with short-term schedules
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Fieldwire, or similar construction software

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
