Ascent Aerospace – Inspiring the next generation of flight! Summary of Position The Materials Manager will oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements. Essential Functions
Manage daily operations of the aerospace tooling materials yard, including receiving, staging, storage, movement, and distribution of materials and tooling. Coordinate the movement of large, heavy, and oversized aerospace tooling, fixtures, molds, jigs, dies, structures, and raw materials. Maintain an organized and clearly identified yard using established inventory, storage, and material-control procedures. Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, identification, condition, and accompanying documentation. Stage materials and tooling for production, fabrication, maintenance, inspection, and shipping activities and coordinate loading and unloading of trucks and transportation equipment Maintain accurate records of material locations, tooling status, quantities, and movement. Coordinate with Production, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Shipping/Receiving, and Purchasing to ensure materials are available when required. Perform safe operation of forklifts, cranes, hoists, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment as authorized. Ensure proper storage and protection of aerospace tooling and materials against weather, corrosion, contamination, damage, or loss. Identify damaged, obsolete, excess, or questionable materials and coordinate appropriate disposition. Maintain proper segregation and identification of materials, including production material, tooling, scrap, quarantine, and customer-owned property. Perform regular inventory counts and location audits and investigate discrepancies. Maintain housekeeping and 6S standards throughout the yard and associated storage areas. Follow safe traffic patterns, pedestrian controls, lifting practices, and material-handling procedures as well as OSHA, company sefety, quality, and environmental requirements. Conduct routine inspections of equipment, storage areas, racks, containers, and tooling. Report safety hazards, damaged equipment, inventory discrepancies, and material issues to appropriate management. Support continuous-improvement initiatives involving material flow, inventory accuracy, storage efficiency, safety, and cost reduction. Maintain confidentiality and protect customer-owned aerospace tooling and materials. Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management
Required Skills, Education & Experience Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
Minimum High School Diploma/GED 5 years of experience in materials control field required This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22.C.F.R. § is required

Ability to effectively handle tasks in a fast-paced environment Able to work varied shifts, overtime and weekends when necessary Has confidence in leading processes, projects and looks for opportunities Ability to work with management team to help drive performance of location Forklift certification and experience with heavy/oversized loads. Crane or overhead lifting experience. Knowledge of aerospace material traceability and customer-owned property requirements. Knowledge of OSHA requirements and industrial safety practices.
