About Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach

API Legal Outreach is the largest social justice legal organization focused on the Asian/Pacific Islander, Latinx, and immigrant communities of the Greater Bay Area and the Central Valley. A growing community-based organization founded in 1975, our mission is to provide culturally competent and linguistically appropriate direct services to the most marginalized segments of our community including low-income women, seniors, immigrants, and youth. With offices in Oakland and San Francisco, our work is focused in the areas of Gender-based Violence, Immigration and Immigrant Rights, Disability Rights, Senior Law and Elder Abuse, Anti-Human Trafficking, Youth Violence Prevention, Anti API Hate Violence, the preservation of affordable housing and small businesses, and other social justice issues.

YAC Operations and Community Care Volunteer:

  • Administrative & Logistical Support: Managing youth paperwork (permission forms, RSVPs), taking meeting notes, and handling event logistics such as registration and day-of check-ins.
  • Curriculum & Enrichment Support: Assisting with the development of YAC curriculum and supporting supplemental enrichment programming for the youth leaders.
  • Tabling & Development Outreach: Reaching out to local businesses to coordinate "charity nights"; managing tabling events and assisting with administrative tasks related to development and outreach.
  • Community Care: Helping maintain a welcoming, accessible, and supportive environment for youth leaders during meetings and community events.
  • Commitment: We are looking for a total of 15–20 hours of coverage per week. Please note that this does not need to be a single volunteer; we are open to having several volunteers split these hours to meet the total team coverage. We are looking for ideally a 3 or 6 month commitment.

Equal Employment Opportunity: API Legal Outreach is an equal opportunity employer to all, regardless of age, ancestry, color, disability (mental and physical), exercising the right to family care and medical leave, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, medical condition, military or veteran status, national origin, political affiliation, race, religious creed, sex (includes pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and related medical conditions), and sexual orientation. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
