ASML US brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers-the world’s leading chipmakers-to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics.

We are currently recruiting for a module production engineering position located at our office in Wilton, CT.

Role and responsibilities

This position is for a production engineer with an innovative attitude. Responsibilities can include:

  • Assisting first line support Engineers and Technicians with troubleshooting of production and tool issues within a cleanroom environment
  • Developing and updating Manufacturing procedures and technical work instructions
  • Developing and updating production sequence and routings
  • Driving continuous improvement, cycle time, cost and labor hour reduction projects including business case development
  • Carrying out time studies
  • Collaborating with design team and production to introduce new products into production
  • Supporting safety and quality improvement initiatives and SPC monitoring
  • Driving root cause understanding and corrective actions for process, tooling and part issues and module customer returns
  • Creating and directing equipment calibration, upkeep, and new equipment specification and procurement

Education and experience

  • Education: BS or MS in Optical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; other engineering or physics disciplines would be considered
  • 0-4 years’ experience in a technical production/engineering environment

Skills

  • Ability to read optical and/or mechanical drawings
  • Ability to write technical procedures
  • Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy, and maintain cooperative working relationships with manager, co-workers and mentors
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments concurrently and drive proposed solutions forward
  • Ability to read and analyze data, information, and documents.
  • Result driven-demonstrate ownership and accountability
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of diverse optical metrology setups (eg.Interferometers, Shack – Hartmann sensor, polarimetry/ellipsometry & Optical alignment) a plus
  • Knowledge of geometric optics, wave optics, Gaussian propagation, and aberration theory a plus
  • Knowledge of LEAN/quality improvement and RCA tools (SPC, DMAIC, 8D, Fishbone, FMEA etc) a plus
  • Knowledge of Code-V, MATLAB, LabVIEW or Python a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus

Other information

This position is located on-site in Wilton, CT. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, training courses and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration, and innovation

  • Operating/working around overhead cranes, fork trucks and motorized pallet movers.
  • Working around lasers; working with ladders; working on platforms; and working around chemicals.
  • The employee is occasionally required to move around the campus.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • May require travel dependent on company needs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • There is a potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:

Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.

The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
