The Role

The Associate Master Data Analyst serves as a hands-on data steward responsible for creating, maintaining, validating, and improving customer, contact, account hierarchy, and product master data across interconnected business systems.

This role applies established data governance policies and business rules to evaluate data quality issues, research complex records, resolve discrepancies, and protect the integrity of master data throughout its lifecycle. The analyst monitors governance reports, processes operational requests, supports cross-system reconciliation, documents procedures, and escalates integration or system defects when appropriate.

Success in this role requires analytical judgment, attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and the ability to collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Tax, Legal, Customer Support, Information Technology, and other business stakeholders.

Your Impact

• Create, maintain, validate, and remediate customer, contact, account hierarchy, address, and product master data in accordance with established governance policies, data standards, and business rules.

• Monitor assigned data governance reports and operational work queues; research exceptions, prioritize remediation, document findings, and maintain records within established service expectations.

• Research legal entities, corporate relationships, addresses, data ownership, and account status using approved internal and external reference sources, including D&B data where applicable.

• Analyze potential duplicate records and execute or coordinate account and contact merges after evaluating Salesforce, Oracle, contractual, transactional, tax, hierarchy, and other relevant business impacts.

• Establish and maintain accurate customer hierarchies, including changes resulting from acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, name changes, and changes in corporate ownership.

• Process customer and contact requests through approved intake channels, including new-record creation, attribute updates, inactivation, reactivation, hierarchy changes, and synchronization with downstream systems.

• Reconcile data across Salesforce, Oracle, HighRadius, and other connected platforms; identify mismatches, transfer failures, integration defects, and unexpected data behavior.

• Troubleshoot operational issues and collaborate with Information Technology and application teams to document defects, create and monitor support tickets, validate corrections, and communicate status to stakeholders.

• Maintain governance metrics and provide visibility into data-quality trends, work queues, recurring defects, remediation progress, and operational risks.

• Develop and maintain clear procedures, work instructions, governance documentation, business rules, and knowledge resources.

• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or automate manual data-management activities while maintaining appropriate governance controls.

• Support compliance-sensitive data activities involving privacy, trade compliance, tax, legal entities, customer status, and contact management by following approved policies and escalation paths.

• Participate in cross-functional initiatives that affect customer, contact, product, quoting, contracting, reporting, or other master-data processes.

• Contribute to team coverage, knowledge sharing, training, continuous improvement, and achievement of operational objectives.

What You'll Need

Required-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Finance, Library or Information Science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Typically requires 0-2 years of experience working with enterprise data, business operations, data quality, system support, analytics, or a related function.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate incomplete or conflicting information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to data quality, accuracy, and control.
  • Ability to interpret and consistently apply business rules, governance policies, and documented procedures.
  • Strong organizational and workload-management skills, with the ability to manage recurring reports, operational requests, project assignments, and urgent business issues.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document findings, explain data issues, and communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify when an issue can be resolved through data maintenance and when it requires escalation to a system owner, technical team, Legal, Tax, or another business function.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Experience working with enterprise data, CRM, ERP, reporting, ticketing, or data-quality systems.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a geographically distributed team.
  • Adaptability and sound judgment in a changing, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred-

  • Experience with Salesforce and Oracle.
  • Experience with D&B data, customer hierarchy research, entity validation, or legal-entity data.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or another ticket-management platform.
  • Experience using Excel for reconciliation, comparison, exception analysis, and operational reporting.
  • Familiarity with master-data integrations, data synchronization or transfer-error analysis
  • Experience in Master Data Management, data governance, customer data, product data, data quality, or data stewardship.
  • Familiarity with privacy, trade compliance, tax, contracting, or similar controls that influence customer and contact data.
