ASRC Federal NetCentric is hiring a Community Planner at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Job Summary: Assists Community Planner. Performs general community planning functions to include site planning, development and maintenance of airfield construction waivers, area development plans, and lines of sight documentation. Duties and Responsibilities: Exercise excellent communications skills through interaction and presentation of data to customers and peers. Gather geographic and facility use information associated with siting of civil structures at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and surrounding annexes. Develop siting projects using GIS (ESRI) software within GeoBase criteria. Siting would include update/development of lines of sight for other users across the station. Work with airfield managers and collect information to validate requirements for airfield waivers. Provide GIS updates to working and final version platforms. Draft and develop future land use through area development plans, generally one or two per year. Each plan would consist of graphical representation of future planned use of buildings and civil infrastructure. Obtain comments from government organizations such as environmental, security, safety and operations. Assist project programmer to develop geographical representation of future building and civil infrastructure recapitalization or new construction. Assist with development of the Basic Information Guide (BIG) for Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and annexes. May be asked to support hurricane preparation and recovery activities. Educational/Training Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Community Planning or Urban Development or two (2) years of experience related to Air Force installation civil development planning. Skill Requirements/Qualifications: Comprehensive working knowledge of geographic information or CAD system software is desired. Must possess a working knowledge of MS Office software and web-based databases updates. Valid State of Florida driver’s license is required. Must currently possess a security clearance or ability to obtain one. Work Environment: Standard administrative/office environment. Computers and associated office equipment will be available as required. Working in a field environment also required. Physical location and workstation space may comply with standards established by the USAF facility space requirements and may require working close to others. Use of audio equipment may be used without interference to others. Use of headphones or similar equipment may be used if devices do not impair or restrict effectiveness of fire or other safety alarms or notices. Physical Demands: Field work will be required to investigate new construction/repair project requirements and evaluate/assess existing facility and infrastructure systems. Walking, standing, & sitting. Use of stairs is required to access the workspace.
