The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Microsoft .NET Software Engineer based in United States.

We are seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and maintain secure enterprise applications and services using the Microsoft .NET ecosystem. In this role, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and architecture through testing, deployment, and ongoing operations. You will build scalable APIs, optimize database performance, and modernize legacy applications using current technologies and cloud-ready architectures. Working within an Agile and DevSecOps environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-quality software. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong developer who values clean code, security, continuous improvement, and end-to-end system ownership.

Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications and APIs using C#, .NET 6/8+, and ASP.NET Core, including MVC, Web API, Razor, and Blazor.
  • Build and maintain data models, performant SQL queries, stored procedures, and database migrations using Microsoft SQL Server and Entity Framework Core.
  • Develop and consume RESTful services, integrating applications with enterprise platforms and third-party APIs.
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests using xUnit, NUnit, MSTest, or comparable testing frameworks.
  • Support automated testing and quality assurance within continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Contribute to build and release automation using Azure DevOps, GitLab, or GitHub Actions, including support for containerized deployments where applicable.
  • Apply secure coding practices aligned with OWASP Top 10 and address findings from static code analysis and vulnerability scans.
  • Modernize and refactor legacy .NET Framework applications toward current .NET versions and cloud-ready architectures.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver effective fixes within established timelines.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, Agile sprint ceremonies, and development planning.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation to support application quality, maintainability, and operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure solutions meet functional, technical, and security requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, combined with 8–10 years of software development experience. Additional relevant professional experience may substitute for the degree.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on C#/.NET development experience, including ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework.
  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server expertise, including T-SQL development and relational database design.
  • Demonstrated experience building, integrating, and securing RESTful APIs.
  • Practical experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum software delivery methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of at least one front-end framework, such as Angular, React, or Blazor, alongside HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Active Department of War (DoW) Secret security clearance or higher. Candidates without at least a Secret clearance will not be considered.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and secure code.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and contribute throughout the full development lifecycle.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS services, including government cloud regions.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for application security.
  • Experience migrating legacy .NET Framework applications to modern .NET.
  • CompTIA Security+ or another DoD 8140-qualifying certification.
  • Microsoft Azure Developer Associate certification (AZ-204).
  • Annual salary range: $115,000–$175,000, depending on experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
  • Healthcare, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Education assistance.
  • Paid time off, including PTO and holidays.
  • Additional paid leave as required by applicable law.
  • Fully remote working arrangement within the United States.
  • Opportunity to contribute to secure enterprise software supporting important government missions.
  • Professional development opportunities through exposure to modern .NET technologies, cloud platforms, and DevSecOps practices.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
